MIA Gate Connections DISCUSSION

On September 10 I arrive from Columbia into Mia at 1:25pm. I have a connecting flight with American Airlines at 3;00 is that enough time to make the flight with no checked bag?
i'm flying from Costa Rica to Minneapolis. I have an hour and 40 minutes to clear customs in Miami. is that enough time? I will be flying on May 28th, Memorial Day.
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I’m flying out of IND to MIA, landing at 9:45 am on 5/28. We have a connecting flight to Grenada that leaves at 10:48 am. We only have carry-ons. Is this enough time to go through customs? I’ve never been to MIA. Next flight to Grenada isn’t until th next day.
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Miami on your way to Grenada is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
flying from Columbia with Avianca into Miami 1:25 pm next connecting flight is with American airlines 2:45 pm Will I have enough time?
No, that's absolutely not enough time.
American Airlines recently changed our flights so that we arrive in Miami at 11:15 and depart, also on American, at 12:02. Do you think that's enough time to make the transfer?
Where are you flying from and to?
1st flight is NYC to MIA (AA 1410)
2nd flight is MIA to STX (AA 1293)
Yes, that's enough time if the first flight is on-time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I am considering a flight from Quito, Ecuador that has a 1 1/2 hour layover in Miami. We would need to clear customs and board our connecting flight. Is 1 1/2 hours enough time?
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Thanks, that was my concern. Any insights into traveling back to Denver from Quito without having to fly in the middle of the night?
You can fly COPA to Panama City, spend a night there and fly out to Denver late the next morning, also on Copa.
Thank you! You’ve been very helpful.
Flying from Key West to MIA, then grabbing a flight from there to Toronto with time being under an hour. Email notification indicated there is a terminal change so now im in a sweat lol is it even possible to make this? Thanks
What airlines are you flying? If both flights are on American that is enough time.
Sorry i wrote my first question too fast haha it is thru americian airlines!
Thks
I am flying from JFK to MHH, Marsh Harbor Bahamas. Connecting through MIA. I am checking a bag at JFK. Does the bag go through to MHH in Bahamas, or do I have to retrieve it in MIA? My layover is only 55min (between 9:45-10:45AM). American Airlines. Will my bags make the connection? TNX
Yes, your bags will be checked through to Marsh Harbour. All you have to do in Miami on your way to the Bahamas is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.
Will may bag make the connection too?
It should.
I am arriving from YYZ in American Airlines to MIA and then I have a connection with LATAM to Peru (LIM). How I can proceed as soon as arrive to Miami? thank you
If your bags are checked through to LIM you just have to walk from the North Terminal to South Terminal J and go through security. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto on your way to Lima.
I am flying into Miami from Indianapolis on American in October. Final destination is Santiago, Chile. The transfer time listed is 2 hours, 20 minutes. Would that be sufficient? I wasn't sure if I remained in the same terminal, would have to re-check bags, etc.? Thank you.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do on the way to Santiago if the second flight is also on American is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
