Hi there - I'm flying from Toronto to Curacao with a 3.5 hour layover in Miami. When I land in Miami, will I need to pick up my checked bags and then re-check them back in? Also, would 3.5 hours be enough time to do this?? Thanks!
If both flights are on American that is plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto so all you have to do in Miami is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
That's great thank you! I am flying AA for both flights and was told that I would need to collect my bags and re-check them back in! What a relief! Although would it be the same for the return journey?
On the return, in Miami you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security but won't have to claim and re-check your bags since you're making an International to International connection.
Hello, I take my flight in Terminal J but I'd like going to Centurion Lounge in Terminal D.
How do I get from the terminal D to Terminal J ?
There is no way between D and J inside security.
Thank you. And may I pass security in Terminal D Even if I do not have a flight in terminal D ?
That's up to whoever is guarding the lane, they might, they might not let you in.
Hi. I'm booked on AA from Panama City to Montreal with transit time at MIA of only one hour 35 minutes. Is this enough?
In theory it's possible but it's fairly risky.

My fiance and I are traveling from Nashville to Miami to Antigua. We are going to be on Delta for both flights and are not checking any bags. Will an 1 hour and 5 minutes be enough time for us ? I'm not sure what is required going OUT of the country. I know coming back in we will need more time...

Please double check your reservation - Delta doesn't fly from Nashville to Miami or Miami to Antigua. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

It's American Airlines. I looked up so many flights yesterday I just accidentally said referenced the wrong airline- thank you!
Then yes, you have enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate on the way to Antigua.
I am traveling with AA from London to Miami however my plans have changed now and I am planning to buy a separate ticket with the same airline to Los Angeles. My flight gets to Miami at 14:25 local time, will i have enough to get on 17:44 one or shall I get 19:45?
Many thanks
Either one should work.

We are flying American Airlines from MIA to HAV. How early do we have to be at the airport? Thanks
2-2.5 hours before your flight to be safe.
Hi I am flying in to Miami from PHL, then from MIAMI to LIMA, Peru. I have one hour connection time. Is it sufficient?
Yes. all you have to do in Miami on your way to Lima is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on American.
Hi there - I arrive from London on VS5 into MIA at 1600hrs (in business class so off first) and need to connect onto AA domestic flight to EYW at Gate D60 departing at 1729hrs - With Global Entry and TSA precheck will I make it do you think?
With no bags and Global Entry you might have a small chance. You still have to run clear across the airport to get to your departure gate after clearing immigration and customs.
Arriving American Airlines from Toronto to Miami then connecting still with AA to Liberia Costa Rica. We are Canadian citizens and have about 2 hours to connect? Will we have to do the immigration/passport control? is 2 hours enough?
You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Miami on the way to Costa Rica is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
We are due to transit through MIA in a couple of weeks, landing from Nassau with Bahamas Air and departing for LHR with Virgin Atlantic, 2hrs25mins later.
We're UK (ESTA) passport holders, but I gather that we'll have to change terminals, so presumably need to clear customs (?) Do we have sufficient time?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Nassau, so all you have to do is claim your bags from Bahamasair, re-check it with Virgin Atlantic, and go through security. You should have enough time if the Bahamasair flight is on-time.
