EWR Layover Ideas DISCUSSION

hi i will be coming in from an internationally flight to EWR arriving around 5pm on a friday and my connection has about 1hr14min. will this be enough time to clear immigration and customs? if not what would happen if i could not make it to the connection on time? thanks
That's not realistically enough time. Are both flights on the same reservation? Where are you flying from and to? What airlines?
yes they are on the same reservation, from tokyo to EWR to ORF, all flight are United Airline. Thank you for the response
Maybe you could make it with no checked bags. Still very risky. I would call United and ask for different flights. Maybe there's a later flight from Newark to Norfolk or maybe you can connect in Chicago or Washington DC instead.
My both flights run from Terminal C. My layover is 1 hr 10 mins. Is that time sufficient.
Can somebody tells that i have to go out of terminal or i have to be inside the termianl.
Im flying from ireland to newark and connecting flight to houston on 13th sept united. They changed my flight times few weeks ago giving me 30mins to get my concecting flight. Both in terminal c. Do u think i will make it
Our flight from Shannon arrived at Gate 82 in Terminal C and our departure gate for the next flight 90 minutes later was directly opposite at Gate 83, We had already cleared US Customs & Immigration in Shannon. How did you get on?
What do I do if my plane lands at EWR from Tel Aviv at 5:00pm and next flight isn't until 5:30am next morning
I will have a 4 1/2 hr layover to board a flight to Dublin. Any suggestions on how to spend the time?
Hi I have a 2 hrs layover. My flight is from Tokyo to EWR, and from EWR to MCO, so is 2hrs enough? both flights are United airline. thanks!
Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I will be arriving from MXP to EWR at 2:15 pm for the first time in US. I was wondering if I would make it to Newark Penn station in 2 hours to catch a train or bus at 4:15 pm.
I think that would be very difficult. I would say the whole process (immigration, customs, airtrain, NJT Train) will take 2-3 hours.
Thanks for the reply, how about Amtrak train from EWR
Do you mean to board an Amtrak Train to somewhere other than New York-Penn or to take the Amtrak to NY Penn. Amtrak takes the same amount of time to get from EWR to NYP and just runs less often, but you could book an Amtrak train leaving EWR 2 hours after your flight arrives and make it if it is on-time.
Thanks that was helpful! I should take Amtrak directly from EWR to Baltimore.
Travelling from Toronto, Canada to Rome, Italy with a 3 hour connection in Newark. Do I have to collect my bags and recheck them? Do I have to clear US Customs? Or do I just have to clear security again?
I should mention the Toronto to Newark flight is Air Canada and the Newark to Rome flight is United.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Newark is take the AirTrain to Terminal C and go through security.
Is 1 hr 19 min on United enough time to connect from Turks and Caicos to DTW?
No, that is not realistically enough time. You need at least 2 hours.
I booked a flight from Vancouver to Newark and then on to Dublin. I realised yesterday that I have to change airport to JFK. I have 4 hours and ten minutes if my flight is on time. Will i make this flight?
That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly. It will take you nearly 2 hours to go between airports and likely cost over $100 unless you take the EWR AirTrain to New Jersey Transit to Penn Station to the LIRR to the JFK AirTrain, which will take maybe a little longer, but only cost about $30.
