Podgorica Airport TGD serves the Montenegro city of Podgorica and its surroundings. The country of Montenegro is located on the Balcan Peninsula, bordering Albania to the south, Serbia to the north, Croatia to the west, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest. With 293 km of Adriatic coast line and some of the tallest mountains in Europe, as well as UNESCO World Heritage sites of Durmitor & Tara River Canyon, and the old city of Kotor, Montenegro is a much-desired vacation destination.
TGD Airport is located close to the town of Golubovci, and 11 km south of the city of Podgorica, and is accessible via E65/E80 Podgorica to Bar road (Bar being 40 km from the Airport, on the southern coast). The new four-lane motorway bypassing Golubovci should relieve congestion during summer months when tourists jam this part of the road net.
With about 620,000 passengers yearly, Podgorica Airport is a hub for Montenegro Airlines, and is served by a number of European regular and low cost airlines, offering direct & connecting flights. Seasonal charters fly to popular vacation destinations.
The passenger terminal at Podgorica Airport (opened in 2006) houses 8 departure & 2 arrival gates, and 8 check-in desks. Services & amenities include: an information desk, passport & security controls, snack bar, shops and duty-free shop, rental car counters, a bank branch, and a business lounge.
is within walking distance of the passenger terminal, with short- and long-term options. The VIP carpark is in front of the administrative building, next to the terminal.
Taxis are cheap and reliable and also take passengers to the Podgorica railway station. For details, inquire at the information desk inside the passenger terminal.
Current and future Airport developments:
Currently, the Airport administration is endeavoring to privatize both Podgorica & Tivat airports.
