I'm very close to attaining frequent flyer status for the first time and booked a quick trip to get the number of flight segments to meet the requirements. I'll be flying into San Diego and flying back out of there an hour later (stupid, I know) to where I came in from. I know San Diego is not a hub airport for the airline I'm flying with and I've never made a "connecting" flight at a non-hub airport. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I'll ask the question anyway. I don't need to go through security again in San Diego, do I?
We will be arriving at SAN from PVR...then onward to connecting flight to Seattle via Alaska Airlines. I realize this is where we will have to collect our luggage , go through customs and recheck luggage. We have done this in PHX but never in San Diego. Is this process easy in the San Diego airport and is where we are to go clearly marked ? Our layover is 1 hr 35 min so hoping this is enough time.
San Diego isn't a major international hub so it will actually be a bit easier then in Phoenix. You should have enough time.
I am arriving on SW airlines, Terminal 1 and meeting my friend who is flying into SAN of AA airlines about an hour latter, Terminal 2 or 3 from DFW. Is there a walkway between terminals so I won't have to go through security to meet my friend?
My flight from CLT to SAN was delayed an hour because of ice.. We need to make a connection to a flight to Japan. We land at gate 27 and our flight leaves from gate 20. We have 10 minutes to make the flight. Can we make it? Will they hold the flight? We are to land at 11:18 and the flight leaves at 11:40 but they usually won't let you board 10 minutes before the scheduled departure. Since it is international I thought maybe they would wait for us. I'm in the air now and a nervous wreck.
Maybe they will wait maybe they won't. If you do arrive at that time you can make that in 10 minutes.
JAL sent an agent to meet our plane and we made it with about 5 minutes to spare, but our luggage did not. We should get it tomorrow. When we got to Narita they had two agents waiting for us at baggage to help fill out the paperwork to have the luggage picked and delivered to our hotel.
