I will arrive SFO from CLE via Untied Airline in T3 by 9:50am. My connecting flight is via Singapore Airlines at T1 by 11:30am. Anyone can tell me shall I need to collect my checked in luggage from UA and recheck through SQ? Do1 hour 30 minutes transit time is enough for the whole transit period? Thanks.
You do not depart from T1. You depart from the International Termoinal. If it's all one reservation then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate via a walkway. If it's two separate reservations then you would have to claim and re-check your bags and it's not enough time.
I fly from Japan to SF and then to Sacramento. We are going to get picked up in SF and not continuing my flying to Sacto. Will we have our check-in luggage with us going through customs so it will not be sent to Sacto.
Yes, you will claim your bags in San Francisco to go through US Customs. After clearing customs just rip the tags off and don't re-check them.
Thank you very much I appreciate the post
From manila to china, china to san francisco then san francisco to portland oregon (final destination). do i need to check out my luggage at beijing airport and check in again going to san francisco and upon arriving at san francisco is check out again my luggage for this is my port of entry and check in again for portland oregon which is my final destination. appreciate your immediate advise. thanks
What airlines are you flying? Yes, you will have to claim your bags in San Francisco to take them through US Customs.
Our airline is china air. So we don't need to check out our luggage at beijing, only at san francisco airport? Is that correct? Appreciate your kind advise. Thanks...
Is the 2 hours layover sufficient to go throuhh cutoms, immigration and recheckin luggages? Pleaase advise. Bybthe way, our airlinw form manila to beijing is cjina air and united airlines from beijing to san francisco.
Do I need to re-check in my baggage if my flight is from MSP to SFO?
And will 1h 25m be sufficient?
If both flights are on the same reservation then you don't need to do anything with your bags in SFO - just go to your departure gate.
Not a chance of making it, given immigration and customs and rechecking bags, right?
With checked bags, yeah, that's totally impossible.
Thx. I'm puzzled that United would not alert me with that information during the booking process.
Im flying from Toronto to Burbank and have a connection at SFO.... will I need to go through security / pick up and recheck my bags again at SFO? (i know we do customs at the Toronto airport)
Since you pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto, you don't have to do anything with your bags in SFO. However, if you arrive in concourse A of the International Terminal, you will have to go through security to access your United departure gate to Burbank in Terminal 3.
I will be arriving to San Francisco from Sydney at 7 am. I am suppose to connect to Chicago after and then to Ottawa. I have a layover of 1 hour 30 minutes in San Francisco. Is that enough? Also, I am not at all familiar with the San Francisco Airport. Is it a long walk between the international terminal and the domestic one? I am flying with united. Does flying with just united save me any time? I have one checked baggage.Thanks.
You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate (the terminals are right next to each other). In Chicago all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
We have a United connection at SFO arriving from LAX, connecting with a United flight to Osaka, Japan. We have a one hour and 20 minute layover. Would our luggage be expected to make it?
Yes, that should be plenty of time.
Hi, I'm flying from SFO to MNL, but I have to stop in Hong Kong with a 3.25hrs layover. I'm flying with United to Hong Kong, and then Cathay to Manila. Do I have to claim my baggages in Hong Kong and recheck in them before I can board for MNL? Thanks
If your tickets are on two separate reservations then you will have to claim your bags in Hong Kong and re-check them. If they were purchased on one reservation then they will be checked through to Manila.
I booked a ticket from Dallas to South Korea and it will stop at SFC for 3 hours before transferring from Virgin Air to Singapore Air. Because my flight is an international connecting flight, will my baggage transfer straight to Korea?
If you purchased your tickets together then your bags will be checked through to Korea. Otherwise you will have to claim them from Virgin America and re-check them with Singapore.
