I will travel from San Diego to Boston via San Francisco at the end od march, and I have more than 12 hours of layover in San Francisco. The domestic flight from Virgin America told me I had to pick up luggage and recheck baggage and ticket. Do you know where to recheck the bags and then go to BART. And how far is Terminal 2 (I guess that's where it is, Virgin) away from the luggage storage and from BART.
Can anybody help me recheck the luggage on SFO airport and whether local buses are on time or whether they are late because I plan to see Haight Ashbury, Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman Wharf and eventually Financial center?
Thanks in advance
I am travelling on Air Canada from Concourse G, but would like to rest at the Club in concourse A. I have a 2 hour overlay. Will I be able to access the Club even if it is at a different concourse?
There is no Maple Leaf Lounge in San Francisco. Which club are you referring to?
My question regards to the Air France Club that is also acessible to Priority Pass members.
My son Neftali Abreu is traveling from Ontario Airport to San Francisco Intl airport, Flight UA458 is being delay 50 mns he has a connection at San Francisco on Flight UA875 to Japan that should depart 10:30 PM. He is a active military that should arrive at Japan tomorrow. With this delay we are afraid that he would loose his connection. Can you advise how long on walking distance is gate 63 from Gate G97 (his connection should be). I appreciate your answer as soon as possible. Thank you !!
He missed the connection since flight 875 already departed before 458 arrived at the gate. They may be able to book him on 837 to Tokyo Narita but that leaves in just 22 minutes.
If they can't put him on that they should send him to LAX and book him for the 12:05 AM ANA flight to Tokyo Haneda. That will get him into Tokyo at 5:25 AM on the 18th.
I am planning a trip that will departure from YYZ(Toronto) by Air Canada flight to SFO and then to connecting an United Airline flight to HKG( Hong Kong) .The layover time is only 2 hrs 50 mins between this connection .Will I have to walk from one terminal to another terminal for my baggage claims, go through customs, etc., before being able to check in UA ? Also will I have enough time ? Thank you ~~
You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate both on Concourse G. You have plenty of time.
thank you again Zap :)
My husband is traveling from ABQ to SFO and the on to Tokyo. He only has a 45 min layover in SFO. Is there an international terminal he has to go to and if so will he have to go through security again? OR can he just run to his next gate to leave for Tokyo? Thank you!
OH and all flights are United!
All he has to do is go from his arrival gate to his departure gate. They are all connected inside security.
Hi there,

My flight arrives from hkg to SFO in terminal one. Then I have a flight two hours later to go-to yvr that looks like is from terminal three. All flights on United. How long is that process, do I have to collect luggage etc or is the transition pretty smooth? Thx!
No flights from Hong Kong arrive in Terminal 1. Your flight from Hong Kong will arrive in the International Terminal. Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. 2 hours should be enough time.
Thank you ZAP. Ah I just noticed it says terminal I not terminal 1. So to be sure, I arrive in the International Terminal. Collect baggage/US immigration and then I will have to go to Terminal 3 to go to Vancouver right? How do you get from International to Terminal 3, is it close? THANKS so much!
Terminal 3 is right next to the International Terminal.

The terminal 3 is for domestic?
You arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Concourse G of the International Terminal. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate as they are connected by a walkway. You have enough time.

arriving United and have just over 1 hour to get to Hawaiian airlines flight. no checked bags. do I have to go through security like LAX, or is everything transfer inside security?
Their terminals aren't connected inside security. You have to change from Terminal 3 to concourse A of the International Terminal, so you have to go through security in SFO. You have just enough time.
Hello - I'm flying from Singapore to Vancouver through SFO. Will I have to collect my bags and recheck them in SFO? Or will the airline transfer my bags directly at SFO?
What airlines are you flying? Are both flights on the same reservation? You will have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs regardless.
I'm flying united and both the flights are under the same reservation. Would that still entail collecting the bags to take them through US customs even though my final destination is a foreign country (Canada)? Thanks.
Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.
