Hi. I'm due to arrive SFO on a
Qantas flight from Sydney at 0930. I'll have an oversized ski bag. My next flight is a United domestic to MCO at 1310 the same day but on a separate ticket. Will I have sufficient time to clear immigration, collect my oversized luggage, clear customs, transfer to the domestic terminal, check my oversized bag, go through security and board the United flight at 1310?
Yes, that should be enough time.
Hi, I am flying from Sydney, landing in San Francisco at 9.30am, then transferring to a domestic flight to Philadelphia at 11.05am. The flights are all booked on the same reservation. Is there enough time to transfer from International terminal to domestic? and will I need to re-check my luggage in San Francisco?
Yes, you will need to claim your bags to take them through US customs in San Francisco then re-check them at the re-check desk. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I'm flying from Maiu via Hawaiian Airlines pick up my baggage then go to American Airlines to check in for my flight to Jacksonville. Are they in same terminal? I only have 2 hours between flights
They are not the same terminal. You should have enough time if everything goes smoothly. Hawaiian is in the International Terminal and American uses Terminal 2.
Flying to sfo from northbend Oregon on way to Denver ..checking one bag in north bend to go to Denver I assume .do I need to go thru security in sfo again or just check in at terminal ..both flights are united and same confirmation number
All you have to do in San Francisco is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. No security or anything with your bag. You will be issued both boarding passes in North Bend.
Hi, I am flying in to the US via SFO at 9:30 am with a connecting flight to Washington DC (IAD) at 12:30pm. Do I have to get the immigration done at SFO? Is that enough time to get it done and make it for the connecting flight? Thank you.
Where are you flying into San Francisco from?
Hi, I will be flying from Singapore. Thank you.
Yes, in San Francisco you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security and to your departure gate.
Hi, I will be flying from Sydney to Miami next March. The flight will arrive in SFO at 7:05 am and then the next flight to MIA will depart at 8:35 am. Is this enough time to make the connection? both with United in one ticket
That is enough time if everything goes smoothly.
if flights are on time, will have almost 90 minutes at SFO before flight to YVR - enough time?
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly and is on the same reservation. There's no time to spare.
Hello, please help me figure this out. I am flying Alaska airlines from Portland Oregon to SFO and then I have to more connections but with Korean Air flying to Soul Korea and then Russia. So I arrive at SFO at 11:30pm and my flight for Korea is at 12:50am but the gate closes an hour early so at 11:50. My luggage will be checked in. I am traveling with a four year old daughter. Do you think I will make it???
The gate does not close an hour early. You just have to take the AirTrain to the International terminal and go through security. You can make it if the first flight is on-time.
Thank you so much for your answer. But that is what Korean air is telling me that the gate closes an hour before the flight. I don't know what to do.
It's just something they say to make sure people are at the boarding area when boarding begins.
Hi, My family and I are traveling from AKL (New Zealand) arriving at SFO at 1650. Connecting flight to Montreal is 1745. Is that enough time? Do we have to go through immigration? how aboit if we have baggage checked in? Thank you.
sorry forgot to mention that all flights under one booking and with United Airlines on AKL to SFO
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. 55 minutes is absolutely not enough time.
Thanks so much for that ZAP. We realised we may need to just have carry on luggage only. Would that help? or would it be best to just reschedule altogether? Thanks.
Carry-ons only would still be very very difficult. I suggest changing your reservation. Whoever sold you that reservation shouldn't have done so.
thanks, have done so now. New itinerary is 0650 arrival and 0900 SFO to EWR (Newark) instead of the 0745. That should give us a bit of time? and also i presume that in EWR, we would not need rechecking through customs and security as we have already done that at SFO? Thanks
Yes, that should be enough time. Yes in Newark all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. (although that will likely require taking a shuttle from Terminal C to Terminal A). You will go through Canadian immigration and customs in Montreal.
Thanks ZAP for all your help!
I'm flying Eva air from Taipei into sfo. I land at 8:20pm and have a United connection at 9:20pm. I have checked luggage. Will I have enough time? Thanks
No, that is absolutely not enough time.
