Does flying UA from Boston to Auckland NZ required customs clearance or bag pick up at SFO or can you walk straight from arrival gate to departure gate
You can go straight from your arrival gate to your departure gate on the way to Auckland. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

We're flying to Auckland (via Air New Zealand) from SFO. We'll be on United Air from Calgary to SFO and will have only 70 minutes layover in SFO. Is this doable? Can we still check- in luggage(s) or it will delay us more? How far by walk is terminal 3 to Intl Terminal G gates? Appreciate your comments. Thanks.
Yes, that is enough time. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary so all you have to do in San Francisco is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, nothing with your luggage. It won't be more than 15 minute walk.
Thanks for the feedback!
One more question - if we decide to bring a check-in luggage, is this doable? Do we have to clear this in SFO and then re-check it in the AUZ Airline counter? or what is the procedure? Thanks!
I fly from Orange County to SFO with 80 minutes for connection to a Lufthansa flight to Munich. The incoming flight from OC is also Lufthansa, although operated by United. Both tickets are issued by Lufthansa. Do I have enough time to make the transfer at SFO? Thanks.
Yes, you have enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate in Terminal 3 to your departure gate in Concourse G of the International Terminal. They are connected inside security by a walkway.
I am an Australian citizen.

26 Sep 18 Traveling Vancouver to SFO on UA2423 ARR 2126.

Connecting with QF 74 to SYD Dep 2250.
Qantas changed their flight by 30 minutes so I am concerned that I will not have enough time for the QF flight.
All flights booked on the same ticket.

1. Do I clear customs/immi in Vancouver?

2. Do I need to collect and drop off baggage in SFO and clear security?

Is 90 minutes enough time if I have to do 1 and 2?

Thank you.
Yes, you will clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. You will have to claim your bags from United, then re-check them at the Qantas check-in desk in the International Terminal and go through security. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I'm Flying From Seattle Tacoma , WA , To San Francisco Airport and Then Connecting On To London Heathrow . I Am Staying On United . Do I Need To Go Through Security at San Francisco ?
All you have to do in San Francisco is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, you do not have to go through security.
flying in from Sydney Australia via United, eta 8:35 am; can we make a connection to Southwest at 10 55 am to get home to Tucson? Must clear customs in SFO. If we stay on UA there is an 11 hour layover! :(
2 hr 20 minutes is just enough time if everything goes perfectly. You will have to transfer the bags yourself to Terminal 1 to re-check them with Southwest.
Hi,
I booked a flight from London to Auckland connecting at SFO. There are 2 hours between the Virgin flight (London to SFO) and the Air NZ flight (SFO to Auckland). Is it enough time to make the connection? ALso can somebody explain the main steps of the connection (e.g. Bagage claim , Customs, Passport control, baggage re-check) so that we can estimate time spent for each unless obviously you have practical information?
Thanks in advance
Olivier
You need to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, Check your bags at the Air New Zealand check-in desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Coming in from DFW, Terminal 2, Gate 56a and leaving from International Terminal Gate A11. Arriving at 1:14 and departing at 2:50. Is that enough time. How fast do you have to move to make it?
Are the two flights on one reservation or two separate reservations?
One reservation
That should be just enough time then. You will have to take the AirTrain and go through security again in the International Terminal.
How much time will I need after I arrive at SFO to catch a plane to Tokyo? Do I need to get my luggage from my Denver-SFO flight to go through any security, etc? Thanks!
What airlines are you flying? Are both flights on the same reservation?
I'm flying United to SFO and then to Tokyo. Both flights are on the same ticket.
I've flown to Tokyo before, but I can't remember if I have to do anything other than catch the flight to Tokyo after I get to SFO. Thanks.
