With three runways and 717,599 passengers in 2016, Tampico Mina International Airport is served by a number of domestic and international airlines.
The passenger terminal at Tampico Mina International Airport houses on the ground level checkin-desks, a waiting room, baggage claim area, customs, cash machine, rental cars, & Information counter, and access to gates 3 & 4. On level 2 it has airline gates 1 & 2. The terminal offers a newsstand, food & drink and shops, a pharmacy and the lottery.
Parking: Short- and long-term parking is available at the parking lot across from the passenger terminal.
Transport from Airport: Authorized taxi & van service is available to the city and surrounding areas. Rates are based on a zone system, the type of vehicle and the number of passengers. Fare tickets can be bought at the taxi kiosk. TTT taxis accept cash only (tel. 833-228-4588) and it has a kiosk right next to the rental car desks on level 2.
Current and future Airport developments: As the current Airport is in a densely populated area, it was decided to replace it with a new one - 40km north of the present airport, which is to cover 1,200 hectares - large enough for needed 3 runways and a passenger terminal able to handle up to one million passengers a year. No completion date could be established.
