I'm arriving Dulles on South African Airways at 6:15 am and my domestic flight (American Airlines) is not until 7:00 pm. Where can I "hang out" at Dulles during that long layover? Can I check my bag on American more than 3 hours before my flight?
Yes, the American check-in desk is open all day. Dulles doesn't have many amenities. There is an aircraft museum close to the airport, but you have to take a taxi there.
To reach Udvar Hazy, Air and Space museum, there is a bus every 20-30 minutes. $1.75 exact change.
Hello, I will fly from SFO to YYZ with United Airline but there is a layover at IAD with only 1 hour 46 mins. I am Canadian, so do I need to clear customs first, or just walk to the other departure gate? If I can go directly to the departure gate, will there be enough time to walk there? Thank you .
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You go through Canadian immigration and customs in Toronto. You have plenty of time.
I will be flying in to Dulles on South African Airways at 6:25a on a Wednesday. I Fly out to Nashville at 8:20a same day on a United flight. Can I make the 1:55 time hack? If not-What if I don't bring any checked Bags so as to not have to pick up and re-check?
If you don't bring any checked bags and you check in for your United flight online you can almost definitely make it. With checked bags all on the same reservation you can also probably make it. It's only problematic if you have checked bags and two separate reservations.
Hello everyone, I'll take a flight from Guarulhos (SP - Brazil) to Boston. I'll have a connection flight at IAD (United flights UA 860 to UA 641). The connection time is 2 hours. I have to go through immigration (j1 visa) but I'll only have carry-on luggage. Is it enough time?
