I just post a question. I need to add that my tickets for CHS/IAD (UA) and IAD/YYZ (AC) are issued not under same reservation. So where's the location to collect the baggage and for check-in to AC flight again?
You go to the main terminal, claim your bags, go up to the departure level, re-check them with Air Canada and go through security and to your departure gate. However, it's worth showing your Air Canada confirmation to the United Agent in Charleston and asking if they can check your bags through to Toronto. If they do then all you have to do at IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I book the below flight : UA6048 from CHS to IAD 0600/0735 AC7371 from IAD to YYZ 0945/1109 If UA and AC in different terminal? I have check-in luggages. Shall I need to collect baggage in IAD and checkin again? If yes, wonder time is enough?
I have a flight from Orlando to Toronto with a layover of 48 mins at Dulles airport.. the arrival at Dulles is 9:13pm on a Tuesday March 13 and departure at 10:22 pm ... Would you think that is enough? Is there security/immigration check again at Dulles?
There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to do in Dulles is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on the same reservation.
Hi! We're looking at booking an international flight that starts in Tampa, connects in IAD, then goes onto Munich. My concern is that the layover in IAD is only 1 hour and 15 minutes. I'm assuming we'd need to go through security/passport control there, so I'm worried that the layover might not be long enough. How difficult is it to make this sort of connection at IAD? If it makes a difference, it would be an evening flight (arriving around 9 and leaving around 10:30pm).
You assume incorrect.y There is no US Immigration, Passport Control, or special security when leaving the US. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
My daughter and I will be arriving in IAD from billy bishop in Toronto so no preclearance at 9:55 am am and departing with frontier to mco at 12:36 pm. That gives me 2 hours and 40 mins to transfer. We will just have carry on bags. I've downloaded mobile passport. Will that actually save me time? Do I have enough time to do customs and security and get to my second flight? I didn't buy the flights on the same plane ticket.
Yes, with carry-ons only that should be enough time.
I will have a flight from GRU to EWR with Conection at IAD airport. (United Airlines same ticket) Is 1h20 enought time to imigration, re-check bagagges and security?
Will I have to get some transportation inside The airport?
Thank you ver much!
Everything should be in the C/D concourse. You should have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thank you very much ZAP!!!! Do you know, if for example, imigration is full and I lost my flight, United will reschedule another flight for me?
Thank you very much again.
Immigration lines are unlikely to be long with the early morning arrival. However, if the flight is late, then yes, they would rebook you on another flight to Newark (or LaGuardia if that would be acceptable to you).
Hi, I booked following ticket: FAY - IAD with United 4961 06:00 - 07:22 IAD - CVG with United 6169 08:15 - 09-52 1) in which gate arrives 4961? 2) from which gate departs 6169? 3) I have only 53 min between these connecting flights (booked on 1 ticket): what is the best way to get from one gate to the other and how long does it take? 4) has United express Commutair often delays? If I lose the connection, what is the option to get to Cincinnati CVG? Thank you
You don't find out your exact gates until the day of your flight. If you miss your connection you will be rebooked on the next available flight to Cincinnati, possibly with an additional connection in Chicago. Early morning flights are rarely delayed. You have enough time.
I saw that a couple of days ago the flight FAY - IAD was delayed by 4 h and today it was even cancelled, which doesn't sound very reliable to me. If they rebook, is it with the same airline or does it change? Thx again, S.
Only United flies from IAD to Cincinnati, so if they rebook you on another airline, it would be with a stop somewhere else. If the delays is known before you leave FAY, they may just rebook you on Delta to CVG through Atlanta or on American through Charlotte.
I will be arriving in IAD from ATL at 4.11 PM tomorrow (UA306) and have only 1 hour before my flight to Copenaghen with SAS (SK926). Is it feasible? Any idea about distance between arrival and departure gates?
Thanks a lot, Luca
You will arrive on Concourse C or D and depart from Concourse B. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time. They are connected by shuttles and the Aerotrain inside security.
