Bucharest Henry Coanda International Airport OTP
(formerly called Otopeni Airport) is Romania's primary airport, serving the city of Bucharest's and its surroundings. In 2013, 84 percent of its passengers departed & arrived to/from European Union countries. Note that Bucharest has a second airport used for low-cost carriers. Both Airports are accessible from motorway E60, a short distance between them. Both Airports are operated by BANC.
OTP Airport is located in the town of Otopeni, and 16.5 kilometers north of downtown Bucharest accessible by National Road DN1 The Passenger Terminal is now connected to the A3 Bucharest-Brasov motorway, to the railway system, and to the Bucharest metro system.
With two 3,500 meter runways and over 11 million passengers in 2016, Henry Coanda Airport is home to TAROM airline and is served by a number of international airlines offering direct & connecting flights to all points of the globe. Ryanair opened a base at H.Coanda Airport in Nov. 2016.

The new passenger terminal consists of two buildings with Departures & Arrivals Halls (
a walkway with several shops connects them on level 1) covers 16,600 sq.meters of space and offers state-of-the-art technology & modern design. Rental car counters for major rental agencies are located in the acccess corridor between Arrivals & Departures.
The Ground levels for Departures and Arrivals are separate - divided by an access road, each with a Parking facility across the road and a bus station outside, while Arrivals also has the Rapid Taxi stand at left end.

Access to the gates is by separate security checks to: gates 50-57 (ground level, at left); and gates 2 - 39 - reached after security & passport checks - leading to the boarding area of the Concourse's main level:

Its Main level with gates 2 - 16 has access by escalators:
- down to gates 20 - 39 (with a food court near gates 25/27);
- up/down, the upper level housing a business lounge and VIP lounge.
