Traveling can be stressful and the last thing you want to worry about is losing an item. At Dallas Fort Worth Airport, procedures for recovering lost items can vary depending on where the item was misplaced. This guide will help you understand the steps to take if you've lost an item at a security checkpoint, on an aircraft, or in other areas of the airport.

Items Lost in Other Areas

If you've lost an item in other areas of the airport, DFW offers two Lost and Found areas. Lost items may be delivered to the American Airlines Lost and Found near gate C2 (past security) or the DFW Lost and Found located in the Terminal E baggage claim near E4 (pre-security). Please note that items lost on an airplane will be handled by each individual airline's Lost and Found.

The Lost and Found offices operate Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can file a lost property report online at the Lost and Found Claim page. DFW’s Lost and Found does not charge to file a lost property report.
