Norman Manley KIN Airport Overview


Norman Manley International Airport KIN, simply referred to as NMIA, is located on the Palisadoes peninsula in outer Kingston Harbour, and facing the city of Kingston, the capital city of Jamaica, on one side and the Caribbean See on the other. It is Jamaica's primary airport located less than 20 minutes from city center. Note: U.S. passengers need to present a valid passport.

With one runway and an estimated 1.7 million passengers a year, Norman Manley International is hub to Caribbean Airlines and is served by a number of international airlines and charters offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe.

The passenger terminal at Norman Manley International offers at present a good number of food & drink establishments, as well as shops. The Customer Service Information desk (tel. (876-924-8546, or toll-free within Jamaica a 1-888-247-7678) is in the Departure Lounge, the Immigration Hall, and in the post-security Arrivals area.  EZ Check-in  self-service machines arelocated in the Ticketing Concourse. Internet access is available through HotSpot in the Departure lounge. Currency exchange (tel. 876-924-8139) is in both Arrivals & Departure concourses and in the public area. Hotel & tour operator desks are in the new Ground Transportation Hall, outside the Customs arrival area.  Lost & Found (tel. 876-924-8452, ext. 2063) is at the Security checkpoint.

Airline Lounges: Air Jamaica, American Airlines & British Airways (for departing business-class members, at Mezzanine, Departures area);  and the VIP Lounge, which is the Airport lounge.

Presently NMIA is undergoing a transformation which will turn the Airport into a spacious and modern facility and offering services and facilities expected by today's travelers. A new two-level pier and four passenger boarding bridges are in operation and more bridges and planned. arking is available across from the passenger terminal and cost J$ 100 for up to 2 hrs;  and J$ 300 for 2-24 hrs.

To get from Norman Manley Airport to your destination you can rent a car in the Ground Transportation Hall from Avis, Budget, Hertz or Island Car, or you can use one of the many hotel- and door-to-door shuttle services listed in the ground transportation hall.
