San Luis Obispo County Regional SBP Airport Overview

San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport SBP - which markets itself now as 'iFlySLOW'  (SLOW is for San Louis Obispo; SBP is the airport code) - is a full-service Airport serving California's central coast areas  with commercial and general aviation.

iFlySLO Airport is located off Highway 101, just south of the city of San Luis Obispo, and is close to the spectacular Morrow Bay and Pismo Beach to the west, and the Los Padres National Forest to the east.
With an estimated 300,000 passengers annually, iFlySLOW Airport is currently served by United and US Airways offering direct flights to Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco, with connections around the world.

NOTE: It is suggested that passengers arrive at the Airport no later than 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

The passenger terminal at San Luis Obispo County Regional - open 4:30am-12:30am or last flight arrival - has a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch & dinner, as well as a Sunday brunch (805-549-9466). WiFi access is free. Vending machines with snacks & drinks are at post-security.  Rental car counters are in the arrivals area.

Transportation: Note that there is no public transportation currently available. Other options are taxis & shuttles only.

The Greyhound bus is at the Amtrak station (800-231-2222).
The Amtrak train is on Railroad Avenue & Santa Barbara Street, 3 miles northwest of the Airport (call 805 541-0505 for local station information.)

Present and future Airport developments:  In October 2015 ground breaking started on the new passenger terminal (needed as the current one is too close to the runway (not conforming with FAA standards.  The 50,000 sq.foot new terminal  will have enough space for future growth - to be located close to the Cal Fie station. No further details are yet available.
