  • SUX Airport Overview
Sioux Gateway Airport SUX is situated outside Sioux City, a city on the Missouri River, in the northwestern part of Iowa and bordering on Nebraska. It is easily accessible via I-29. SUX Airport may not be the largest airport in Iowa, but it does have the state’s longest runway at 9,002 feet. The airport is currently served by Delta/Northwest Airlines offering daily nonstop flights to Minneapolis. The compact airport terminal has some amenities that typically are only found in larger airports, including two passenger-loading bridges, a business center with multiple workstations, free Internet, a Restaurant/Bar, as well as a game room. Short- and long-term parking offer the first 30 minutes free to give you ample time to pick up/drop off a passenger.

The Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field provides an FAA certified aviation facility for the operation of scheduled air carrier, general aviation, and military aircraft. These facilities and services specifically include: runways, taxiways, aircraft parking ramps, Terminal Building facilities, hangars, land with aviation access, aviation security, streets, and non-aviation (accessible) land in support of Airport functions.
