  • ICT Airport Overview
Wichita Midcontinent Airport ICT is located on the west side of the city of Wichita, Kansas. The Airport is close to Interstate Hwy I-35 and US Hwy 54/400. Its present passenger terminal consists of two levels: The upper level has two concourses with 12 gates, while the ground level offers an information booth staffed with trained community volunteers, an ATM machine, a gift shop, a rental car counter and a game room. ADA accessible curb ramps are located at each crosswalk in front of the terminal building, and at the curb ramp in the rental car lot.

Passengers can be dropped off in front of the terminal building (vehicles cannot be left unattended) and parking in the short-term lot is free for the first 30 minutes. If you need to pick up someone at the Airport, you can use the free Cell Phone Lot. To get to City Center, you have the option of taking public transportation via The Westside Connector; its route connects with the West Maple Route each hour at 2nd Street and Tyler Road. The West Maple Route connects with all other Wichita Transit routes at the downtown Transit Center. Shuttle vans, taxis or limos are also available.

Several major airlines service the airport including their affiliated regional jet services. ICT airport provides nonstop flights to many U.S. destinations, with the most daily flights departing for Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Wichita Mid-Continent Airport is presently starting their second phase of construction--the new aircraft parking ramp, which is a key component of the overall $150 million project slated for completion in 2012. Also, construction of the new terminal building will begin, with substantial completion anticipated about three years following groundbreaking, or about 2011/12. The replacement terminal building will be about the same size as the current facility, but can handle more passengers and is more efficient. The new terminal will be able to handle two million passengers annually when it opens and will have plenty of space for expansion.
