    Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport AVP, located in the town of Avoca, Pennsylvania, is situated to the North of the City of Wilkes Barre and to the South of the City of Scranton, with Interstate 81 being the major travel artery. The following other Cities are within reasonable driving distance of the Airport: Hazelton, PA (25 mins); Stroudsburgh, PA (45 mins); Binghamton, NY (60 mins), and Williamsport, PA (80 mins.) The new Joseph M. McDade Terminal opened in May 2006, replacing the old terminal.

    The passenger terminal offers the following amenities: An Information Center, staffed by volunteer ambassadors, an ATM machine, a conference room, the Pocono Club & Business Cener, free wireless internet acess, a restaurant/bar, a gift shop, massage chairs, a pay-on-foot station, baggage carts, mailing boxes, a gaming arcade, vending machines, rental car agencies and an on-Airport Holiday Inn (off I-81). For parking you have a choice of the Parking Garage located across from the terminal, or the surface parking lot right behind it (only the first five minutes of parking are free in both). You also have the option of paying your parking fee inside the terminal at the pay-on-foot automats located on the first level near the information center and the lower level near the excalator. Once you have paid, you have 30 minutes to exit the Airport. For your transportation needs, there are numerous hotel shuttles available, and the airport-authorized taxi and limo service can take you to your destination.
