Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport YWG, or simply 'Winnipeg International', is located in the geographical center of North America and close to downtown Winnipeg, the provincial capital of Manitoba in central Canada. Atcan be accessed from King Edward Street Route 90, which runs into the Canada Highway 1 & Route 85.Due to its location, the Airport not only serves the Province of Manitoba, but also parts of Saskatchewan, NW Ontario & Nunavut, as well as parts of North Dakota and Minnesota in the U.S.  Perimeter Aviation, with its own passenger terminal, serves the more remote areas.
With two long runways and 3.3 million passengers a year, Winnipeg International is hub to Calm Air, Kivalliq Air & Perimeter Airlines, and is served by many scheduled and charter airlines offering nonstop flights to numerous Canadian, and some U.S. (Delta & Skywest), Mexican, Iceland and European destinations. At present the Airport is being transformed, not only in the physical sense, but also in the way it serves its community. Winnipeg International is fully operational 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week, and its redevelopment will be adaptable to changing markets, regulatory and security environments. 

The brand-new, state-of-the-art four-level passengers terminal at Winnipeg International has on the Ground level Domestic Arrivals & Check-in, and on the connecting lower level International Arrival, and security-related offices. The Second Level is for Departures. The third level has an observation lounge only. 
(a) The Ground Level of the passenger terminal offers access to transportation (valet, limousine & taxi, as well as bus stop) and a walkway at its east end to the new hotel. Inside are Arrivals A with Air Canada Baggage & Arrivals B with WestJet Baggage, with US Customs & Border Protection in the center, Valet & Away, Aer Rianta Duty-free, ATM, parking pay stations, a donut shop, Information counter and check-in desks. Escalators/elevators lead down to the Lower Level, housing Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Police and Canada Border Services, as well as International Arrivals C and the CanPass desk.
(b) The Second level of the passenger terminal offers a number of food & drink establishments and shops, ATM machines, Travelex, Showcase Manitoba, an arcade, a chapel, and the departure lounges for gates D through U.

A four-level parkade was opened in 2006, and as part of the redevelopment project, a new parking terminal is also in the works. At present, short-term parking is available in Lot 1, upper deck,  and Lot 2, lower deck, across from the hotel. The Parkade is across from Lots 1 & 2, while Economy Lot 1 is behind the Greyhound Bus Terminal and Economy Lot 2 is past the west side of the passenger terminal, where paystations are accepting credit cards & cash.  For more parking information call 204-987-9404.

To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus: Rental car counters for five rental car agencies are located on the main floor of the Adinistration Building. A new bus terminal opened in 2009. Winnipeg Buses 15 & 20 and the Greyhound bus serve the Airport with transportation to the City and beyond.
