Winnipeg YWG Airport Overview

Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport YWG (or 'Winnipeg International') - geographically in the center of North America - not only serves the central Canadian Province of Monitoba and its capital city Winnipeg, but also parts of the provinces of Saskatchewan, NW Ontario & Nunavut, as well as parts of North Dakota & Minnesota in the U.S.  Its new LEED-certified passenger terminal was lauded by the Travel Channel for 'the way skylights, an atrium and large windows fill the space with light and bring the big sky inside'.  ACI placed Winnipeg Airport in 5th place among global airports of its size, and bestowed it the 2012 Airport Service Quality Award.

YWG Airport and close to downtown Winnipeg, and can be accessed from King Edward Street Route 90, which runs into the Canada Highway 1 & Route 85.

With about 3.5M passengers a year and two long runways, Winnipeg International Airport is hub to Calm Air & Perimeter Airlines (Perimeter has its own terminal, serving the more remote areas), and is served by many scheduled and charter airlines offering  flights to numerous domestic and international destinations with connections around the world.

 Winnipeg International Airport has one new passenger terminal, opened in October 2011. 

Rental car counters for five rental car agencies are located on the main level of the parking garage across from the terminal.

To get from Winnipeg Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a limo  or a bus: 
Hollywood Limousine Service is the Airport's 'peferred proponent' - tel. 204.294.9191 or
Winnipeg Buses 15 & 20 and the Greyhound bus serve the Airport with transportation to the City and beyond.  The bus terminal is on Wellington Av., next to the Administration Building and across from the long-term parking lot.
