- YXX Airport Overview
Abbotsford International Airport YXX is located just 5 minutes off Highway #1 and about 35 miles southeast of the city of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, Canada, and right on the US border with Washington State. It is situated in the breathtaking Fraser Valley region whose surrounding communities it serves.
WestJet with flights to Edmonton and Calgary and Airspeed Aviation with flights to Victoria, offer daily non-stop flights. Transat Holidays also offers direct flights to Mexico, while WestJet offers connections to other popular sun-filled destinations in winter.
Recent renovations have increased the space and improved traffic flow in the domestic and international terminals. An airside lounge was added and a new one will open soon. Parking lot improvements and an automated pay-on-exit system increased the ease and convenience for drivers, and further improvements include new public restroom facilities, as well a renovated check-in area.
The total passenger count for 2008 was 503,693 and is expected to increase.
