Jacksonville Ellis Airport OAJ
serves the city of Jacksonville and Onslow County, in the State of North Carolina.
OAJ Airport is in Richlands - 10 miles northwest of Jacksonville, on Catherine Lake Road 111. It is accessible from SR 258 Richlands Hwy (exit Fowler Manning Rd).
With one runway and around 350K yearly passengers, the Airport is currently served by major airlines, offering direct flights to select U.S. hubs with connections around the world.
The new 67,000 sq.ft 2-level Passenger Terminal at Ellis Airport
opened in August 2015 - replacing the old terminal. It has four airline gates, 3 enclosed boarding bridges, spacious security checkpoints, improved cellphone reception, new restaurant and other concessions, improved WiFi connection, new seating which allows for recharge of electronic devices and a new 'USO of North Carolina' facility. The terminal also offers rental car counters, lost & found (contact the Airport Police at 910-324-1100, ext. 3166), and TSA Pre-check.
The Terminal apron will be able to accommodate larger aircraft.
Ellis Airport has currently no public transportation.
Taxis are waiting outside during all flight arrivals.
Future Airport developments:
A new control tower under construction is to be completed by 2018.
