BGM Airport is in the town of Maine, Broom County, NY - only 8 miles from the City of Binghamton, which is situated between the cities of Scranton, PA, to the south, and Syracuse, NY, to the north. Main arteries leading to BGM Airport are Interstate Hwy 81, Route 11 (Castle Creek Road) and Route 17 (exit 71 to Airport Rd.); indirectly it can be reached via I-86 & I-88.
With a recently extended runway and an estimated yearly passenger count of 180,000, Greater Binghamton Airport is served by some major airlines to U.S. hubs, with convenient connecting flights.
The passenger terminal at Greater Binghamton Airport - open 4:30am-1am, or until last flight arrives - offers free internet access, ATM machine, conference center, business center; the Gateway Cafe with gift shop; and rental car counters in the arrivals area.
Its Visitors Center is across from the baggage claim, and offers information about the Greater Binghamton Area and its surrounding counties. It stores brochures and gives directions on lodging, entertainment, & local attractions. The terminal houses a Military Family Room. The Business Center is open 5am-11pm and offers private work stations & WiFi access. Recent upgrades include new charging stations for electronic devices, new seats with outlets,new flooring & carpets; redesign of the screening checkpoint; a flight information display system.
