Cairns (CNS) Airport

Cairns CNS Airport Overview

Cairns Airport CNS serves Australia's Queensland and its city of Cairns.  Itis one of Australia's major airports and also serves as gateway to the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef and Tropical Rain Forests.

CNS Airport is only 7 km from the central business district of the city of Cairns, located off Sheridan Street & Captain Cook Highway, and situated in the southeastern part of the tropical Cape York Peninsula (between Mount Whitfield to the west & Trinity Bay to the east). It is easily accessible by its close proximity to an extensive road network.

With two runways and an estimated 4.7 million passengers a year Cairns Airport is served by Australian & international airlines offering direct and connecting flights to cities around the world.

Cairns Airport has a Domestic and an International  passenger terminal
To pick up a passenger at Cairns Airport, you can either use the 'pick-up zone' (2.4 m height clearance) in front of the terminals or park in one of the three parking options offering the first ten minutes free.

Other parking options at Cairns Airport include short-term, long-term & budget long-term (economy) parking:
1. For short-term parking, use the Domestic open-air carpark (which opened a covered section), a 2-minute walk to check-in at the Domestic Terminal; first ten minutes are free, cash or credit cards accepted. Note: a new covered carpark section for premium parking, with covered pedestrian walkway, is to be added 'in the first half of 2012'.
2. For Long-term parking use either the International or domestic carparks, with access to the International Terminal in 2-3 minutes, or the Domestic Terminal in 10 minutes. Both long-term carparks offer the first 10 minutes free and cash & credit cards are accepted.
3. The Budget Long-Term option is available throughout the International Carpark.
