The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport CHO is located 8 miles north of the city of Charlottesville, North Carolina--one mile west of Route 29 on Airport Road. It is a non-hub, commercial service airport, offering a multitude of daily non-stop flights to Charlotte, Philadelphia, New York/LaGuardia, Washington/Dulles, Detroit, and Atlanta, via Delta Connection, United Express and US Airways, offering connections around the world. Your trip to the Caribbeans has just become easier: As of October 1, 2009, and throughout the peak Caribbean travel season, US Airways offers over a hundred weekly nonstop flights to 14 Caribbean destinations from Philadelphia International Airport.
CHO is located in an economically strong region with a corporate-heavy support base that is quickly turning it into small airport success. Also, a considerable area tourism adds to the need of air service into the heart of Virginia. Since its start in 1955, the CHO Airport has grown into a 60,000 sq. ft. terminal with customer amenities like a conference room, on-site rental cars, ground transportation, and food service. Short-Term, Long-Term and Long-Term Overflow parking lots are located--the Long Term Overflow lot is an automated, credit card only lot). Disabled parking is offered in the Short-Term Lot. The first 30 minutes are free in the Short Term Lot and can be used for passenger and luggage pick-up. To get to your destination, there are multiple taxis, as well as three hotel-sponsored shuttles available.
