Charlottesville Albemarle CHO Airport Overview

Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport CHO serves one of Virginia's economically strong regions with a corporate-heavy support base, who contributes to the Airport's success. It also benefits considerably from the area's tourism business.
The Airport is located 8 miles north of the city of Charlottesville, Virginia--one mile west of Route 29 on Airport Road. It is a non-hub commercial service airport, and is 10 miles from the University of Virginia.

With an estimated 404,000 passengers in 2011, Charlottesville Albermarle Airport is served by a number of major airlines offering direct flights to some major U.S. city hubs, with connections around the globe.

NOTE: The Airport opens at 3:30 am and urges passengers to arrive 90 minutes before their scheduled flights, particularly during peak hours of 5am-7am. Luggage needs to be checked at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Airline counters open at  4:15am.

Charlottesville Albemarle Airport has one passenger terminal , fully accessible, with free internet excess, and the latest in electronic ticketing, check-in & boarding passes in the ticketing wing and on-site rental cars. A remote registration kiosk is for TSA-approved Registered Traveler Program participants. The baggage claim area has rental car counters, and hotel courtesy shuttle phone board.  The Market Gourmet Deli & Gift shop is open from 5 am to 7pm.  A conference room is available weekdays 8am-4:30pm.  ATM mahines are in the ticketing area and at lowr level concourse, post-security.

Parking options at Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport include short-term lots and long-term and long-term/ Overflow lots. For passenger pickup use the Short-term lot offering the first 30 minutes free. he short-term lot offers the first 30 mins. free - ideal for passenger prickup/dropoff.
Disabled parking is offered in the Short-Term Lot.  All Short-term parking passengers need to pay their parking fees at the pay station inside the passenger terminal.
The Long-Term Overflow parking lot is an automated, credit card only lot.
