Gerald R Ford GRR Airport Overview

Gerald Ford International Airport GRR is serving the areas of West Michigan. It was renamed in 1999 to honor Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States and U.S. Congressman representing western Michigan for almost three decades.

The Airport is located in Grand Rapids, County of Kent, Michigan, at the intersection of 44th Street & Patterson Avenue (25 minutes from downtown), and is acccessible via Interstate Hwy. 96, M6 & US Hwy 131.

With three runways and an estimation 2.2 million passengers a year, Gerald Ford International Airport is served by major & low-cost airlines offering a host of nonstop destinations to major US cities, including a number of daily departures to Chicago-O’Hare.   Note that Allegiant has resumed service to Fort Lauderdale as of November 18, 2011.

On-airport rental car counters for major agencies are located on level 1 of the parking garage. (Off-Airport "Sign & Drive Rent-A-Car" (tel. 800-698-9594) can be contacted from the grond transportation boardacrss from the baggage claim.

To get from Gerald Ford International Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take the Metro Cab (616-827-6500), take a hotel shuttle, order a limo or take a bus:
1. The Rapid Public Bus 17 (616-776-1100) stops at the Airport.
2. Greyhound (800-231-2222) buses depart from downtown.

The transportation center inside the passenger terminal, located in the baggage claim area, near the information desk, can give you further guidance.
There is a Transit Station next to the commercial vehicle lane at the east end of the terminal roadway in front of the passenger terminal.

    yes, it is true flights to/from GRR are always more expensive... Probably because it is not a main hub? Either way, it's frustrating!

    it seems to me that flying out of grr it always cost more per ticket than other airports thought the prices were supposed to come down theres always some thing saying fly from grr to so and so for very low price then when you actually check it out its always 4 times more
