Harrisburg MDT Airport Overview

Harrisburg International Airport MDT - also referred to as 'HIA' - serves Central Pennsylvania and its capital city of Harrisburg. It is the State's third-busiest airport.

MDT Airport is located in Lower Swatara Township - 8 miles southeast of the central business district  of Harrisburg - with clearly-marked access to Interstate Hwys. 83 and 283, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, SR 230 and the Capital Beltway.

With an estimated 1.2 million passengers annually and a long runway, Harrisburg International Airport is served by major airlines offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe.

Harrisburg International has one passenger terminal.

Present and future Airport developments: 2016 Airport  improvements, include: upgrades to the free WiFi service in the terminal, a larger & more comfortable shuttle bus, a new phone system for Airport tenants, and a new Airfield Tractor & Mower.
