Lynchburg Regional Airport LYH is within the so-called 'Region 2000' - a 2000-square-mile district in the heart of Virginia - and is serving Central Virginia's city of Lynchburg and its surrounding areas. The Airport is located at the intersection of US 29, 460 & 501, at Wards Road, south of the City of Lynchburg, a city 118 miles west of Richmond.

The passenger terminal at Lynchburg Regional Airport is opens at 4:30a.m. to last flight. Passengers are required to check in at least one hour prior to flight. All sidewalks are accessible. Both sides of the terminal have a walkway to the parking facilities, and the enrance is divided into an arrivals area with baggage claim, hotel phones, & rental car counters, and to the right ticketing desks, an ATM machine and some concessions.  WiFi service is available throughout the terminal.  After passing security, all of the gates load from a single central boarding area. This area offers dataport-equipped workstations.
