    Lynchburg Regional Airport LYH is located at the intersection of US 29 and US 460, at Wards Road, and south of the City of Lynchburg, a city 118 miles west of Richmond, and within the so-called 'Region 2000'--a 2000-square-mile district in the heart of Virginia. The airport's proximity to three major highways (US 29, 501, & US 460) provides ready access to the area's international corporations, plants, research and development firms, colleges and universities and plays a key role in the region's growth--from business complexes to scenic and historic attractions.

    Regional carrier service is provided from 5 am to midnight by Delta Connection/Atlantic Southeast and US Airways Express/Piedmont, with four daily round trip flights to Atlanta and Charlotte. Due to their affiliation with major flagship airlines, connection and ticketing to your final destinaton is easy. The airport terminal opens at 4:30 a.m. and closes around midnight, after the last flight has deplaned and all passengers have picked up their luggage. Passengers are required to check in at least one hour prior to flight. All sidewalks are accessible.

    The passenger terminal has Wi-Fi access throughout, an ATM machine, a vending machine area, three rental car desks and a transportation service desk for taxis and limos. Parking options are a close-in lot and an economy lot, both offer the first 30 minutes free, affording quick pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
