Lynchburg Regional Airport LYH is serving Central Virginia's city of Lynchburg and its surrounding areas - situated within the so-called 'Region 2000' - a 2000-square-mile district in the heart of Virginia.
The airport's proximity to three major highways provides ready access to the area's international corporations, plants, research and development firms, colleges and universities and plays a key role in the region's growth - from business complexes to scenic and historic attractions.
LYH Airport is located at the intersection of US 29, 460 & 501, at Wards Road, south of the City of Lynchburg (and 118 miles west of Richmond.)
With an estimated yearly passenger count of 155,000, Lynchburg Regional Airport is presently served by American Eagle, offering daily flights to Charlotte International Airport, with connections worldwide.
NOTE: passengers need to check in at least one hour before scheduled flight.
The passenger terminal is open 4am and closes after the last flight of the day and after passengers picked up their bags. First departure of the day starts at 5:15am.
- The ground level is divided between arrivals (left) and departures (right), with the center leading to security check, and escalators thereafter to the boarding area with gates 2 - 5. The departures area houses airline ticket counters, ATM machine, conference room & Vending area; while the arrivals area houses administrative office, airport police/ Lost/Found, baggage claim & rental car counters. WiFi access is is free throughout the terminal.
