    Monterey MRY Peninsula Airport, a citizen-owned airport, is located 5 miles SE from Monterey's business District, covering 598 acres with 2 parallel runways. Hwy 1, Hwy 68 (to Salinas) and connecting 218 surround the airport. Currently, the Airlines serving MRY airport are American Eagle, US Airways (America West), United Express (SkyWest), and Allegiant, offering non-stop flights to San Francisco, Los Angeles,San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver. Six rental car agencies do business at the airport. A scheduled shuttle bus runs between Monterey and Salinas to both the San Francisco and the San Jose Mineta airports.
