Security & Screening

In this section, you will find detailed information about the security and screening procedures at the airport. Learn about the locations of security checkpoints, the availability of TSA PreCheck and its benefits, and the absence of fast track lanes and Global Entry locations. Additionally, discover how to enroll in TSA PreCheck and take advantage of special offers for expedited security programs like CLEAR. This comprehensive guide ensures you are well-prepared for a smooth and efficient airport experience.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

The Monterey Peninsula Airport has two security checkpoints, one located at the entrance of the terminal and the other at the gate area. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before their flight to allow enough time for security screening. The security checkpoints are equipped with advanced technology and trained personnel to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

There are no dedicated fast track lanes at the Monterey Peninsula Airport. However, the TSA PreCheck program is available for eligible passengers, which allows them to go through a faster and more convenient security screening process. Passengers who are enrolled in TSA PreCheck can use the designated lanes at the security checkpoints and do not have to remove their shoes, belts, or jackets, or take out their laptops and liquids from their carry-on bags.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

The Monterey Peninsula Airport does not have international flights and therefore does not have passport and immigration control locations. However, passengers traveling to international destinations from other airports should ensure that they have all the necessary travel documents, including a valid passport and visa (if required), and allow enough time for passport and immigration control procedures upon arrival at their destination.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Monterey Airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. The TSA Pre Checkpoint allows eligible passengers to experience expedited screening, which means they can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program.

Global Entry Locations

These include the San Francisco International Airport Enrollment Center, the San Jose International Airport Enrollment Center, and the Sacramento International Airport Enrollment Center. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To apply for Global Entry, passengers must complete an online application and schedule an in-person interview at an enrollment center.

CLEAR Lane Locations

This airport does not currently have CLEAR Lanes. However, you still might be able to use CLEAR if you are traveling to or from another airport that does. You can easily check CLEAR airport locations and learn more about how to save a ton of time on your next trip!
