MFR Airport Overview
The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport MFR is located in Medford, southwestern Oregon, close to Interstate Hwy 5. It serves the City of Medford, surrounding Jackson county and Rogue Valley, as well as seven other counties. Commercial air service is provided by by five major airlines offering direct flights to eight major hubs, with worldwide connections. The brand-new passenger terminal opened in January 2009, offers state-of-the-art amenities, including five rental car desks, a gift shop, a restaurant/lounge, WiFi hotspots, an information booth staffed by volunteers (541-772-8068) and passenger drop off and pickup areas. Short and long-term parking is immediately adjacent to the west side of the new terminal. A new control tower was completed a few months after completion of the terminal, and the final phase of the terminal project, including the abatement and demolition of the old terminal building, followed by construction of a new aircraft parking apron, were completed a few months thereafter. To get from the Airport to town, you can hire a taxi, rent a car or take a bus: RVTD provides bus service to the transfer station in Medford. Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport also serves general aviation traffic, including extensive corporate and business travel. Three Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) provide a full range of services including the sale of both Avgas and Jet A fuel, major airframe and power plant repairs, aircraft sales, flight training, aircraft rental, and charters.
