CAE Airport Overview
Columbia Metro Airport CAE is located six miles from the State Capital of Columbia, South Carolina, near major highways I-26, I-20, I-77 and nearby I-95. (Take exit 113 to Airport Blvd. Make a right at the first light. Turn right on John Hardee Expressway and follow Airport signs.) The medium-sized Airport is served by several domestic airlines offering direct flights to many cities in the south and east of the country, with connections to all points of the globe.
The two-level passenger terminal with 16 gates offers services and amenities, including free internet access, a Food Court and a Business Center. The upper level has an information center, sky caps, shops and restaurants, a game room and a chapel. On the lower level you find the rental car agency desks, restaurant areas, the Carolina Room and the Ft. Jackson Welcome booth. You also have several parking options available: The new multi-level parking garage is right across the passenger terminal offering free parking for the first 20 minutes; surrounding the parking lot are the Surface Parking lots and rental car lots A & B. Valet parking is offered at a daily flat fee. There are three payment options available accepting either cash, credit/debit cards.
To get to/from the Airport you have the choice of taking a taxi or the CMRTA bus (803-255-7100), Route 28A--the bus stop is at the lower-level baggage claim at the far end of the terminal, in-between the car rental parking lot and behind the Airport Police booth. Some area hotels also provide free shuttle services for their guests.
Main Terminal / Concourses at Columbia Metropolitian CAE Airport The public area of the airport terminal consists of both an upper and a lower level. The main entrance, ticket counters, food court, gift stores and gate access are on the upper level. Baggage claim, car rental and other services are on the lower level.
