• JAN Airport Overview
  The motto of Jackson, Miss., is “The Best of the New South” and the Jackson airport’s master plan aspires to make that true of the airport as well. The current terminal facility, which was constructed in 1963 and expanded in 1990, is operating at its effective capacity. To give passengers more elbow room and to improve facilities, the Jackson airport hopes to expand in gradual phases over the next two decades. Eight airlines service the airport providing non-stop flights to eleven cities daily. Delta and its regional jet partners, ASA and Comair, offers the most flights, but Southwest is a close second. The airport is approximately a 20 minute drive from downtown Jackson, Mississippi’s state capital.
