    Jacksonville International Airport JAX, located 18 miles north of downtown Jacksonville, Florida, situated in close proximity to Interstates I-95 and I-295, as well as Routes 115, 102 and 5, and the gateway to northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. The airlines serving the Airport provide non-stop flights to major US Cities, with connections around the world. Also, plans are in place for a new airline operating 50-seat jets, with service to eight cities, including Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. On Airport property are two hotels: The Clarion Hotel Airport Conference Center on 2101 Dixie Clipper Rd., Tel: (904) 741-1997; and the Microtel Inn and Suites on 13200 International Airport Blvd., Tel: (904) 741-4911.

    The main terminal features a large courtyard with several eating options and a stage were local bands perform at the end of each month. Three concourses (A, B and C) extend from the main terminal; new Concourses A & C with 10 gates each and moving walkways replaced the old ones. Amenities in the Passenger Terminal include 12 shops and 11 restaurants, as well as the Welcome Center/Information Desk on the lower level, and USO facilities right behind it. Massages are available at Comfort Zone Spa. The Delta Crown Room is in Concourse A, and a game room in the Courtyard. Next to the Economy lots is the Pet Paradise Resort where you can board your pet. Prepaid phone cards are sold at River City Travel Mart. The Business Center offers fully-equipped computer and business services. Smarte Cartes are for rent, and Tony's Shoeshine is in the Courtyard and at post-security.

    If you need to pick up an arriving passenger at the Airport, use the free Cell Phone Lot, or 'Courtesy Waiting Lot'. To enter the lot from Airport Road make a left after the JAA building onto Pecan Park Road and then a left into the Waiting Lot which also offers up-to-date flight information. Stay with your car until your party has collected luggage and calls you to be picked up at the curb. Other parking facilities include: Hourly and Daily Parking Garage in front of the passenger terminal, with the Daily Surface lot right behind it. Economy Lots 1, 2 and 3 are located on either side of Pecan Park Road; however Economy Lot 3 is designated for Holidays and special events only and is the most expensive parking option. Valet Parking is available from AirValet; the vehicle check-in booth is on the upper level (Tel: (904) 741-1005). Free shuttles run between all parking lots and the terminal 24/7.

    All ground transportation services--including rental car agencies, taxi and limousine services--are located on the lower level of the passenger terminal, adjacent to baggage claim. To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take Gator City Taxi (904) 741-0008 or (904) 355-8294; or use one of the four shuttle services: American Airport Shuttle (904) 382-7769 or (877) NAS-JAX5; Bon Voyage Transportation (904) 233-4547; Express Shuttle (904) 353-8880 or (800) 394-0116; and Pearl Executive Shuttle (888) 997-3275. Or you can take the frequent public bus: The INS-33 AirJTA Express bus connects the Airport with downtown Jacksonville (904) 630-3100--route information and schedules are located in the passenger terminal's information booth.
