Jacksonville JAX Airport Overview

Jacksonville International Airport JAX, which was just quoted by the New York Times Magazine as 'one of the cheapest airports to fly out of in the country', is not only gateway to the City of Jacksonville, but also to Florida's sandy beaches, and offers passengers great service, art exhibits and live music, rocking chairs & free WiFi. The Airport is manages by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority ('JAA').

Jacksonville Airport is located 18 miles north of downtown Jacksonville, Florida, is situated in close proximity to Interstates I-95 and I-295/ Florida 9A, and is the gateway to northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.

With two runways and an estimated 5.2 million passengers in 2012, Jacksonville Airport is served presently by American, AirTran, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United & US Airways, offering non-stop flights to major US Cities, with connections around the world. JetBlue has started May 2011a new route to Puerto Rico, while Silver Airways offers 3 daily flights to Tampa.

(b) the Microtel Inn and Suites (tel: 904-741-4911) on 13200 International Airport Blvd.

To get from Jacksonville Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a shuttle bus or the public bus. All ground transportation services - including rental car agencies, taxi and limousine services - are located at the information both on the lower level of the passenger terminal, adjacent to baggage claim.
