  • RIC Airport Overview
    Richmond International Airport RIC is located on Airport Drive, accessible via I-64 (Exit 197A) or I-295 (Exit 31) - seven miles southeast of Richmond, the capital of Virginia. The Airport is within an hour’s drive of historic Williamsburg and a two-hour drive from Washington, D.C., the Blue Ridge Mountains and Virginia Beach. With three runways, accommodating most air carriers, many major, as well as two low-fare airlines, serve the airport with nonstop flights to a host of destinations with worldwide connections. Passengers at RIC Airport can now find an alternative connection to to Europe--by flying AirCanada via Toronto. In 2007 Richmond International Airport completed a major renovation project, establishing it as one of the most modern and well-equipped airports in the eastern United States. Over 3.5 million passengers use RIC airport yearly. Cargo carriers (Airborn Express/DHL, FedEx and UPS) also serve the Airport. The 'Doubletree Hotel Richmond Airport' is located on on Airport Drive, near Charles City Road.

    The passenger terminal consists of two levels. Level One includes ATM machine, baggage claim, ground transportation, rental car counters, valet parking services and a Visitors' Center. Level Two includes ATM machine, bank, Concourses A & B, curbside check-in, security checkpoints, shops and restaurants and ticket counters. Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the terminal.

    If you need to pick up a passenger at the Airport, use the free Cell Phone Lot and wait until your arriving party has picked up luggage and calls you to be picked up at the curb. You can also park for for up to 60 minutes free in the hourly/daily sections of the North & South Parking Garage and pick up your party inside the terminal. Other parking options include:
    The North & South Garage, the South Garage expansion, and Economy Lots A, B & C. Lots A&B are within half a mile from the terminal, while Lot C is a mile from the terminal. Free shuttles run between all three Lots and the terminal. All garages are within walking distance of the terminal. Valet Parking (804-226-3089) is available at the terminal departure curb. Your vehicle is parked for you and returned to you at the curb. Disabled parking is available in all parking facilities.
    Fees can be paid either (a) at the cashier available at all parking facilities; (b) using AutoExpress - pay stations are throughout the upper & lower passenger terminal levels and in the North & South parking garages; or (c) using Credit Card at select lanes in the daily & hourly garage exit plaza, and when exiting Economy lot A).

    To get to/from the Airport, you have several options: You can take a taxi; or use Groome Transportation offering shared-ride, door-to-door shuttle and charter services at the Airport with offices in the lower level of the passenger terminal, near the baggage claim area; or use bus service provided by the Greater Richmond Transit Company serving the Airport.
