Vienna International VIE Airport Overview

Vienna International Airport VIE is gateway not only to Vienna & other Austrian Cities, but also to five neighbouring countries (Poland, The Czech Republic, Slowakia, Hungary, and Slovenia).

The Airport is located in the town of Schwechat, outside Austria's capital City Vienna, or about a 25 minute drive from city center. It is accessible via motorway A4 and freeway B9. Both the subway (S-Bahn) and the CAT train stations are located across from the Arrivals area.

With two long runways and an estimated 22.2 million passengers in 2012, a host of airlines serve the airport with direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe. 

The on-Airport NH Vienna Airport Hotel ( tel. +431 70151 0/ fax 9571) is next to Carpark 4, opposite the Arrivals Hall, and has a conference & event center annexed to it.

Vienna International Airport has one integrated passenger terminal with Concourse gates B, C, D, & F & G.

Rental car desks are inside the Arrivals level of Vienna Airport and pickup/dropoff is in the lot adjacent to carpark 4.

To get from Vienna International Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a bus or a train:
On the first level of the Terminal complex (Arrivals), as well as from Carpark 4, you can access the S-Bahn (Rapid Rail) & the CAT train by a covered walkway  (the present underground railway station will be expanded to connect to Bratislava, Slovakia). The CAT bus stop is on the opposite side and guarantees you a seat if you reserve ahead. 
1. The S-Bahn to Vienna's city center runs every half hour,  takes 24 mins. Tickets machines are on the train platforms.
2. The City Airport Train CAT runs non-stop to the City Air Terminal, which is only a 10-minute ride from St. Stephan's Cathedral, accessible by tram, subway, bus or taxi.
3. Vienna Airport Lines connects Airport West with the main Vienna transport hubs.
4. Regional buses run to Vienna Donauzentrum (via Vienna Kaisermuhlen VIC) taking 40 mins; and to Westbahnhof (train station West) via Vienna-Dorfelstrasse & Meidling train station taking 45 mins.
