Main Terminal / Concourses at New Delhi IndiraGandhi DEL Airport

Indira Gandhi Airport layout, Transfer Connections, Terminal details, and Amenities & Services.

Indira Gandhi International Airport has two main passenger terminals  - T1 & T3:
  Domestic Terminal 1 (presently consistsing of two buildings - the Arrival Terminal T1C & the Departure Terminal T1D, both within walking distance, and new integrated Terminal 3 with an Arrivals and a Departure Level for both Domestic & International operations. (The separate Hajj terminal is only in operation from October through December.)  A new 1.3 km tunnel road under the runway connects the Palam-Dwarka roundabout near T1 with the new T3 within 5 minutes' driving time. The new  six-lane tunnel with a pedestrian walkway runs between T1 and T3.

NEW:  1. CISF Security now allows passengers with a soft copy of the e-ticket.
2. The virtual shopping wall at T3, name 'Scan N Shop' enables passengers to order by scanning the displayed QR code against each item or over the phone at the call center.

Transfer Connections:
Six international transfer counters in the international transfer area enable international transfer passengers to complete all preboarding formalities prior to boarding their next plane.
The new tunnel road provides transfer between T3 and T1D.
The Metro stations at T3 connects to the City: Metro stations at New Delhi, Shivaji & Dhaula Kuan offer check-in facilities, and
New Delhi & Shivaji stations also have baggage check-in facilities - presently for Air India only.

Terminal 1, presently the low-cost terminal, 
has separate buildings for Arrivals (T1C) and Departures (T1D)  and is home to Go Air, Indigo & Spicejet airlines. Its buildings T1C & T1D are within walking distance of each other; however, a free golf cart service is also available. The new tunnel provides transfer between T1D and T3.
(a) The Arrivals Terminal T1C,
which offers food & drink and retail concessions in- & outside the terminal, airline & tourist counters, currency exchange and ATM machines.
(b) The Departures Terminal T1D which offers an information counter, four check-in stations; security checkpoints, food & drink and retail concessions, smoking room, child care & children play area, bank, ATM machines, currency exchange, internet zone and laptop station, and access to the pier and its departure gates. 

Terminal 3 is a new integrated terminal
opened 2010. Its ground level (Arrivals) & level 1 (Departures) are both divided into international & domestic areas. Level 2 houses lounges & the food court; levels 3 & 4 house more lounges,  and level 5 is occupied by the hotel.
This new steel-and-glass 9-level terminal - the first in the world to get the LEED NC Gold rating - has two piers (concourses), each 1.2 km in length. The terminal, which has its own 7-level parking garage,  is linked to the 8-lane National Highway 8, and the Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System. It includes an in-line baggage handling system capable of processing 12,800 bags an hour, has six check-in islands with 168 check-in counters, 95 immigration counters, 78 passenger boarding bridges (3 of which for large aircraft), 14 baggage reclaim belts, a 6.7 million square foot apron area, 96 walkways, 20,000 square meters of retail space, a 100-room transit hotel, and a multi-level garage with 4,300 spaces.
The Airport advises that nearly all of T3's passengers will not have to wait more than 10 minutes at customs, immigration, or security check.

Arrivals on the ground level has a large main hall, divided into domestic & international arrivals, each with baggage claim area, information desk, and all necessary services.  Domestic Arrivals is accessed from the Domestic arrivals pier, while international arrivals is accessed from the international pier. 
The Delhi Metro's Airport Express train - presently running every 20 mins, 5am-11pm, connects with Central New Delhi railway station.

Departures on level 1
has a large main hall with check-in counters, various services, and access to either domestic or international departures waiting areas leading to their individual pier with departure gates.
The Domestic departure pier has three sections: Section C has gates 27-36; Section D has gates 37-41 and Section D has gates 42-62.
The International departure pier has two sections: Section A is divided into gates 1-3 & 4-14; Section B has gates 15-26.  Snooze cabins' (opposite boarding gate 17) offer bed, table with wi-fi connection, electric plugs, cellphone charging sockets & flat-screen TVs.

Amenities & Services at Terminal 3:  Aside from a large selection of food & drink, as well as retail concessions, the teminal offers banking facilities, business and VIP facilities, Wi-Fi acccesss, duty-free outlets, left luggage, lost & found, information counters, airline lounges, and more.

ITC Lounges: 
1.The Plaza Pemium Lounge at (a) Terminal 3 at  International Departures, level 4 (follow sign 'Lounges B', turn right after Guardian Pharmacy, then take elevator to level 4); and at (b) Terminal 1D, at both Domestic Departures, Mezzanine Level.
2. The Green Lounge at Terminal 3 at International Departures, afer security check;
3. The AMEX Platinum Lounge at Terminal 3's Domestic Departure, post-scurity near food court)

If you need to to rest & freshen up you have a choice to use either
