  • ORF Airport Overview
Norfolk International Airport ORF is located close to Interstate 64, six miles from downtown Norfolk (in southeastern Virginia), home to the world's largest naval base. It is the largest airport serving the Greater Hampton Roads area and northeastern North Carolina. TSA Concourse Screening is open daily 4:15am until the last scheduled airline departure. The Norfolk airport’s main terminal was built in the 1970s, but a major capital improvement project completed in 2002 refurbished the somewhat drab terminal and added a spacious new arrivals terminal, a nine-story parking garage and additional food and retail concessions. Presently the passenger terminal offers Wi-Fi access, a conference center, restaurants and shops, and friendly Airport Ambassadors at at hand to answer your questions and provide you with brochures.

Major airlines serve the airport with a host of direct flights to a multitude of destinations in the eastern part of the country, and connecting flights around the world. Airline Ticket Counters are open daily two hours prior to the first morning departures until the last departing flight. Outer Banks air service is available via FlightGest Air Shuttle (919-840-4443) or Outer Banks Air Charters (252-256-2322). Parking is available in the two short-term lots on either side of the main terminal, with metered & long-term parking and the rental car return lots beyond; the Parking Garage is accessible via the Arrival terminal's baggage area and is partitioned into three sections: Garage A is for long- &short-term parking and rental car-ready lot; Garages B and C are for long-term parking. There is an oversized-vehicle long-term parking lot right next to the parking garage.

The Airport Connection, a shuttle bus service operated by Carey Transportation, runs between the Airport and all Hampton Roads cities--Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk on Southside Hampton Roads--and Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News, Jamestown and Yorktown on the Virginia Peninsula. Service also available to many other destinations. The Outer Banks of North Carolina Transportation offers rental cars, shuttles and taxis. For information call the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau at 252-473-2138 or 1-877-629-4386.

General Aviation: FBO--Landmark Aviation--supports all facets of general aviation activity in the Norfolk region. The general aviation airport is situated adjacent to ORF Airport, on 29.5 acres, with a 9001 foot runway, and is home to more than 100 general aviation aircraft. Landmark Aviation provides full-service facilities for the maintenance and housing of private and corporate aircraft. The modern terminal facility offers a wide variety of services including fueling, full-service concierge, international and domestic ground handling, maintenance, avionics and third-party charter services. Landmark Aviation has received FAA certification as a Part 145 Repair Station.
