Norfolk ORF Airport Overview

Norfolk International Airport ORF serves the Greater Hampton Roads area and northeastern North Carolina.

The Airport is located close to Interstate 64 / Hampton Roads Belltway (take exit 279; follow Norview Ave. to Airport entrance), and six miles from downtown Norfolk in southeastern Virginia, home to the world's largest naval base.  It is also adjacent to the Norfolk Botanical Garden - a popular venue for passengers on a longer layover.

The Airport terminal is open 24/7; airline ticket counters open 2 hrs prior to first departure in the morning to the last departing flight of the day. 
TSA Concourse Security Checkpoints are open 4:30am-8:30pm.

With two runways and an estimated 3.3 million passengers in 2012, Norfolk International Airport is served by major airlines offering host of direct flights to a multitude of destinations in the eastern part of the country, with connections around the world. 
Outer Banks air service is available via FlightGest Air Shuttle (919-840-4443) or Outer Banks Air Charters (252-256-2322).

The passenger terminal complex at Norfolk International Airport consists of a two-level Main /Departure Terminal, with Concourses A & B, and the Arrivals Terminal - both are connected by a skybridge. (For more information, please refer to 'Terminal Map' page.)

To get from Norfolk International Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi (Yellow Cab 757-857-8888; Norfolk Checker 757-855-3333), or a shutle bus:
1. The Airport Connection (866--823-4626 or 757-962-0433, a shuttle bus service, has a marked booth outside baggage claim. It  runs between the Airport and all Hampton Roads cities--Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk on Southside Hampton Roads--and Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News, Jamestown and Yorktown on the Virginia Peninsula. Service is also available to many other destinations.
2. The Outer Banks of North Carolina Transportation offers rental cars, shuttles and taxis. For information call the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau at 252-473-2138 or 1-877-629-4386. 
3. Hanpton Roads Transit HRT (visit: gohrt.com) Route 7 serves the terminals on a trial basis until 3/31/12 - daily 5am-11:47pm via Norview Av. & Tidewater Drive & the Cedar Grove transfer facility. Light rail users can catch this service at the bus stop on Civic Plaza station  at St. Pauls Blvd.
