PER Airport is located south of Guildford, near Perth. From Perth center it is 12 km to the domestic terminals, or 17 km to the international terminal.
The new access road 'Airport Drive' connecting to Tonkin/Leach Hwy. interchange leads into the new consolidated precinct 'Airport Central' around Terminals 1 & 2, providing direct access to the carparks.
With two runways and an estimated 13 million passengers annually, Perth Airport is served by domestic & international airlines offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe.
Frequent Qantas Flyers: Quantas now offers the next generation in check-in technology at Perth Airport for frequent flyers using microchips embedded in their cards.
Perth Airport has four passenger terminals - T1 through T4.
NOTE: SmartGate border control's ABC e-gates have been installed at: Melboune, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Cairns & Darwin. (Biometric cameras fitted to the eGates automatically adjust to the passenger’s height and innovative document feeder technology automatically positions the passport precisely on the reader eliminating any delays due to document misplacement or inadequacy of time for reading. During busy periods, each eGate is capable of processing up to 150 passengers an hour.)
Present and future Airport developments: The following projects are either already completed, or nearing completion:
- New Terminal 1 (T1) is adding the following amenities: A large 27-meter landscaped forecourt plaza with two new food & drink outlets; a Travelex currency exchange & and two LS Travel convenience outlets - accessible from both in- and outside of the terminal, and a selection of specialty stores. The forecourt plaza is also to offer fast free WiFi, and easy access to parking & bus stations. Covered walkways, seating and landscaping include native Western Austraian flora.
