RAP Airport Overview
Rapid City Regional Airport RAP is located 2 miles from the village of Caputa, off Interstate 90 (Exit 61 Elk Vale Rd. south to SD 44. Go east on SD 44--the Airport is about 8 miles north), in the southwest part of South Dakota, and only a few miles from Rapid City. Due to its close location to Western Wyoming and Northern Nebraska, the Airport also serves the tri-state area. A number of major airlines serve the Airport with direct flights to six major U.S. destinations. The Airport is the perfect alternative to crowded metropolitan airports, with short lines, plenty of nearby parking and a complete range of travel services. It's stress-free and gets you where you want to go - faster!
The passenger terminal offers a business center and conference room, two restaurants and a gift shop, Smarte Carte & Skycaps , and rental car counters. The terminal is normally open 4am to midnight--no overnight stays inside the terminal are allowed. Parking is available for short-term (first 20 minutes free), hourly, daily and long-term parking. To get to/from the Airport, you can take the Airport Shuttle (1-800-357-9998), available 7 days/wk. The shuttle makes pickups anywhere in the Rapd City/Black Hills region at reasonable fees.
