RAP Airport Overview
Rapid City Regional Airport RAP is located off Interstate 90* in the southwest part of South Dakota, and only a few miles from Rapid City. Due to its close location to Western Wyoming and Northern Nebraska, its airport is positioned to serve the tri-state area.

A number of major airlines serve RAP Airport with direct flights to six major U.S.destinations. RAP is the perfect alternative to crowded metropolitan airports. Located in the shadow of the famous Black Hill Mountains, it offers short lines, plenty of nearby parking and a complete range of travel services. It's stress-free and gets you where you want to go - FASTER!

Rapid City** is the largest community in Western South Dakota, located in the middle of the beautiful Black Hills. Visitors and residents enjoy many outdoor activities including biking, hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and a wide variety of other sports and activities. National Geographic Adventure Magazine has named Rapid City as one of 50 Next Great Adventure Towns in its September 2008 edition.

The terminal is normally open from 4:00am until 12:00am. No overnight stays inside the terminal are allowed.

* From Interstate 90, take Exit 61 (Elk Vale Road) south to SD 44. Turn right (east) on SD 44. Rapid City Regional Airport is approx. 8 miles on the left (north) about two miles before you reach the village of Caputa. **For details look under "Layover Ideas".

Baggage Carts / Skycap at Rapid City Regional RAP Airport
Luggage carts are provided by Smarte Carte and can be found on the lower level adjacent to the Baggage Claim Area. Smarte Cartes are available for $2.00. Return of carts earn a 25 cent reward.
