Flying from Sav to ATL DL844. and ATL-MBJ DL317. Do we have to do anything with our bags once we get to atlanta? I have seen different answers on here regarding re checking bags during a layover.

No you do not have to do anything with your bags on the way to Jamaica. Just take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse .

I am arriving on 02/03/2015 at JFK via flight AF 22 at 11:15 and departing to MSY via flight AF9272 at 14:00. Do i collect my bags at JFK to the next flight or I collect them at MSY?

You will arrive in terminal 1, go through immigration, claim your bags, go through us customs , re-check your bags, then take the AirTrain from T1 to T2, go through security and to your departure gate. Your flight to New Orleans is operated by Delta.

    Thank You

I am flying in from minneapolis on delta heading to St lucia. Will I have to go through security check points or do anything with my checked bags? I only have 45min to make the connection.

No you only have to go from your arrival gate to your departure concourse via the plane train.

Hello! I just booked a trip to Hawaii and thought I'd save myself the hassle of going through customs in Vancouver (meaning I would have to claim my bags, go through customs and then recheck my bags) BUT what I didn't realize was that my flight changes airlines! Once at SEA I switch over to Hawaiian Airlines. Am I going to have to get my bags from somewhere and then recheck them?? (and yes, the tickets were all booked together)

If your tickets were purchased together your bags will be checked through to Honolulu once you preclear US Customs in Edmonton.

  • Asiana Seoul to JFK

Can someone tell me the protocol I must follow as far as Customs is concerned. I will arrive at Terminal 4 on an Asiana flight from Seoul Korea. I have a connecting flight on Jet Blue departing Terminal 5. My question is will I need to pick up my baggage at the baggage claim area prior to clearing customs before leaving Terminal 4 and continue on my journey on Jet Blue at Terminal 5. My understanding is when I arrive in the US, Asiana will not be able to transfer my luggage directly to my Jet Blue flight because at some point my baggage must pass through US Custom. Any suggestions on insights to make this process as tolerable as possible is greatly appricicated.

If you purchased tickets together you can recheck bags at the transfer desk in T4, otherwise you will have to bring them on the AirTrain to T5 to check with JetBlue

I purchased tickets from Expedia. So I guess you are saying I pick up my bags at the claim area, then go through Customs and then I can recheck my bags at the transfer desk in T4 then just proceed to T5 with my carrier on stuff. Thanks for the advice

Im flying in to chicago on a United flight, have a 5 hour layover, then my connecting flight is Alaska airlines to Seattle.. Will i need to recheck my bags in chicago or just make a gate change?

If 'flying into Chicago' from an overseas country (other than from some Canadian & other foreign airports with U.S. Customs Clearance), you will arrive at the International Terminal 5, where you need to go through passport control, pick up bags, go through customs clearance & re-check-in your bags. If you bought both flights on one ticket, your bags will thereafter be automatically transferred. If not, you will need to re-check them in with your connecting airline. Alaska is in Terminal 3. The underground ATS train connects to it in minutes.

Did you purchase your tickets together or separately? Is your United arrival domestic or International?

i didnt purchase the tickets. Company trip. Im arriving form baltimore

  • Is there a place to leave luggage for the night?
    Nov 5, 2014

Hy, I'm flying from Montreal landing in Houston Friday Nov 7. I have a 24 jours lay over and I am wondering if there is a service at the airport where I can leave my bags for the night so I don't have to bring them downtown where I am spending the night. If so what is the cost and where do I locate this service at the airport? Thank you

There are no baggage storage facilities at the airport for security reasons. You will have to bring it with you to your hotel.

well I'm staying with some people and do not hope to carry my 2 bags on the bus. Is there any way I might leave them at one hotel or any other place? I have to roam in the city a few hours before going to my hosts. Thanks

Flew atlas jet from Ben Gurion airport, checked in my luggage with tag 1C 275949 on flight kk 6014 on 3rd of November. My luggage did not arrive. wondering why. could it have been intercepted by security? cos i had some medical equipment in it

You will have to contact your airline. This is not the airport or airline's website.

Flew from Tel Aviv to London on the 19th Oct and still waiting for the bag to arrive, we had olive oil inside and by mistake detached the security screening labels, although did try to attach them again. I have been in touch with the ground handling people the security removed baggage department and everyone else in between. They all say there is nowhere else to look. I do wish you luck, I'm thinking of going back to Tel Aviv to look myself. Ours was an easyjet flight EZY8818 baggage tag XH367670

Hi, flying from Kalispell via Seattle to Vancouver with Alaskan air do I have to pick up baggage in Seatlle and go through customs and if so is 48mins enough time?

No you do not. You will go through Canadian Immigration and customs when you get to Vancouver. You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. You should have enough time.

Hi, We arrive on 6:55 in Charlotte from Tampa and have to get the flight at 7:50 to Munich, Germany and our luggage is already in Charlotte so we have to pick That up. Do you think we can get our flight?

If you actually have to exit the secure area to get some bagage it might be a bit tough.

  • Interline agreement CX and DL and mobility assistance
    Oct 30, 2014

Im arriving with CX in JFK and have a connecting flight on a separate ticket with DL to IAD. CX has an interline agreement with DL, and have told me that the baggage can be checked through to final destination. I understand that we have to clear immigrations and collect the baggage / clear customs. But can i get some info on: -is there a Delta counter for bag drop in T7 after customs? If there is i assume we drop it off and go to the DL terminal to go through security? -does connecting carrier assume the baggage policy of the originating carrier, since international baggage rules are vastly different from domestic. We are also flying business class. One last thing: i will be traveling with an elderly woman and CX has arranged for wheelchair assistance upon arrival. How can we avail this to move from T7 to the DL terminal? Thanks

If your bags are tagged through to IAD you can re-check them at the transfer desk in T7. If the bag is tagged through to IAD DL will accept it. The wheelchair assistance person will either take her all the way to her DL flight in Terminal 2 or will hand her off to another wheelchair assistance person in Terminal 2. Make sure that you have requested wheelchair assistance from DL as well.

  • US Airways to South America - 1 or 2 bags?
    Oct 26, 2014

I will be flying Dublin-Philadelphia-Miami-Buenos Aires with US Airways next week. The Dublin - Philadelphia leg is done by Amerian Airlines, and I finish with US airways. US Airways seem to have a policy of 2 free checked bags to South America so I am wondering if I can check my two bags in Dublin or will I have to do it in Philadelphia? Many thanks for any advice

I believe you would get 2 bags because it would fall under US Airways South America policy.

  • Dallas Lovefield to South Korea

I booked a ticket from Dallas to South Korea and it will stop at SFC for 3 hours before transferring from Virgin Air to Singapore Air. Because my flight is an international connecting flight, will my baggage transfer straight to Korea?

If you purchased your tickets together then your bags will be checked through to Korea. Otherwise you will have to claim them from Virgin America and re-check them with Singapore.
