  • Delta - Baggage
    Jun 1, 2013

I arrived from Ireland via JFK on Wednesday around 6:00 without our luggage. It is now Saturday morning and one piece of luggage is still sitting in the Baggage Office at Logan and my other one is at BDL. I am furious. They promised to deliver the luggage as soon as it arrived...that was Wednesday, today is Saturday. I have called Delta several times to no avail. All they say is "Sorry for the inconvenience". Any advice to get Delta to send me my luggage?

  • FCO Intl Arrival-Connecting to domestic

Hello... I will be arriving FCO on an AA international flight (from Chicago ORD) and will connect with a domestic Alitalia flight to Venice (VCE) using a separate ticket. Will I be able to check my baggage through to VCE when I check in at ORD, or will I necessarily have to check my baggage from ORD to FCO...process through immigration at FCO and then tote my baggage to the Alitalia departure site and recheck it there for the domestic flight to VCE?

Usually when buying separate tickets you need to go through the tedious job of picking up bags after customs & checking them in with next airline. However, if your connecting flight is a code-share flight (i.e., if your booking details state 'American Airlines operated by Alitalia', your bags would be automatically transferred.

  • ATA Curbside Bags?

Does ATA at MDW have curbside luggage check-in? Any charge?

Correction - NOT ATA, I meant Air-Tran. Thanks!

That depends on the airline - contact AirTran.

Arriving from Dublin (Aer Lingus - no USCBP at Dublin for Aer Lingus), customs at ORD with hand luggage only. How do we transport DF liquor through security screening to T2? Is it better to to check bag at Dublin, reclaim through customs at ORD and place DF liquor in checked bag for onward transit?

  • Checked-in baggage all the way

Hi, If I get my bags checked-in all the way to the final destination (because both airlines are part of Star Alliance), do I still need to collect my bags and re-checked-in my bags again?

Only international arrivals in the U.S. need to collect bags, go through customs clearance, and -if continuing journey- re-check-in bags.

I left my Ipad in the seat back of 11A on flight 3421 on May 1, 2013. If you found it, please let me know. Reward available. American Airlines is completely uncooperative with the is situation.

I'm traveling from London to San Diego with a connecting flight in DFW, and both flights are with American Airlines. Will AA transfer my baggage onto my connecting flight to San Diego or do I have to claim it and re-check it in at DFW?

On arrival at DFW, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). AA uses Terminals A, C & D (TD being the International Terminal, where you need to go through passport control, pick up bags, go through customs clearance & then re-check in your bags. The Skylink at post-security gets you to your connecting flight. However, you can also use the walkway between A, B, C & D gates. At SAN (San Diego Airport) you will arrive at Terminal 2.

In short, you will claim your baggage in immigration at DFW terminal D, then re-check it with AA after exiting customs, then go upstairs and go back through security then either go to your gate, using the Skylink train if your San Diego flight leaves from a terminal other than D.

  • Left luggage

Is there a left luggage depot at Vancouver Int'l Airport? I'm looking at flying in from one destination and out to another a couple of days later. I'd prefer to leave my large suitcase at airport if possible and retrieve for onward journey.

Yes, there is: 'CDS Ltd. Baggage Services' at YVR offers short or long-term baggage storage charging $5.00 to $8.50 per item. They are located in both in the pre-security area of level 2 of Domestic & international terminals: Domestic terminal: tel. 604-303-4519, open 5am-11pm; International terminal: tel. 604-303-4500

do I need to claim my luggage for my Toronto flight , is it a different terminal ? what do I do? air cnada flt to Toronto ill be flying in from florence

What airline are you flying from Florence? Lufthansa? If you bought your tickets in one booking you won't have to claim your bags in Frankfurt.

I have flight today to CLT and only 35 min layover till flight to LAS. Should I carry on luggage or take chance that it will make the change to the different plane?? thanks

It's always safer to carry on but usually baggage can get between planes as fast as passengers.

We are travelling from Canada thru Newark to Punta Cana .. we have 2 hours lay over .. hoping is long enough .. we do change terminals from A to C .... do we pick up our luggage and bring with us ??? and whats the best and fastest for us too go Shuttle or Air train???

btw we are travelling with United Airlines

and travelling from MONCTON N.B. thru NEWARK to PUNTA CANA

As Greater Moncton Airport does not have U.S. customs clearance, you will need, on arrival at EWR (Newark Airport), go through passport check, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bag. Thereafter take the Airtrain to Terminal C, where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. 2 hrs transfer time will suffice.

thanks so much for the info

The flights from Moncton arrive in Terminal C in order to go through immigration, so you will not have to take the Airtrain.
