Pittsburgh International is the largest airport in Pennsylvania, with high rankings by Conde Nast and OAG. It offers direct and connecting flights to all parts of the world and has all the amenities of a major airport. Akron Canton Regional located in Ohio, is 68 miles away, is served by a number of major airlines with direct flights to US hub cities.

1. Pittsburgh International Airport PIT is located in the Pittsburgh suburb of Findlay Township, approximately 20 miles west of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at Exit 6 of PA-60 (Future I-376) and the Northern Terminus of PA Turnpike 576 (Future I-576). This can be credited in part to the airport's easy-to-navigate hub and spoke gate system and the hundreds of shops and restaurants, which are mandated not to overcharge its customers. With four runways, PIT airport is served by major airlines and several regional jet services offering countless nonstop and connecting flights to all parts of the world. The dominant presence at Pittsburgh airport is US Airways, which uses the airport as its largest domestic and international hub. PIT Airport has two separate Terminals--the Landside and the Airside Terminal. The Landside Terminal is closest to the parking areas and the entry point for those whose flights originate from Pittsburgh. It includes ticketing, 12 baggage claim areas (US Airways has 6), security checkpoints, shops, and ground transportation such as taxi, limo, and rapid transit. A Hyatt Regency Hotel is attached to the enclosed moving walkway. Travelers Aid desks are on the transit and baggage claim levels, as well as Airport Police Headquarters. After passengers pass through the security checkpoint, they board one of two underground driverless people movers traveling to the Airside Terminal, where all departure gates are located. The baggage claim is on the bottom level of the Landside Terminal. The Airside Terminal consists of four concourses A, B, C, & D holding the departure gates. In the center core is the majority of the AirMall shops with over one hundred shops to choose from. On the mezzanine level are the US Airways Club and a chapel. Pittsburgh Airport offers on-site parking and offers usage of a GO FAST Pass account to pay for parking electronically at the airport. You have three parking options--short-term, long-term and extended parking. The Short Term garage is attached to the Landside Terminal via the enclosed moving walkway. The Long-Term section offers quick access to the enclosed moving walkway. The Extended section does not have such access, but shuttles can be accessed from the Baggage Claim level of the Landside Terminal outside doors six and eight.
