Myrtle Beach International Airport MYR, located at the southern end of its namesake city, is close to the attractions that make Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a popular tourist destination--60 miles of beach called the 'Grand Strand', and numerous golf courses. The airport is presently served by many major, as well as regional airlines, offering daily nonstop flights to cities located in the eastern part of the country, including major hubs (New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington/Reagan and Orlando), with connections worldwide. Short- and Long-term parking is available directly in front of the terminal, with the first 20 minutes free, while Economy parking is located at the south end of the terminal. Nine rental car agencies do business at the airport, and taxis are available in front of the terminal's baggage claim. Some hotels also offer complimentary shuttle service.

Myrtle Beach International Airport has experienced enormous growth over the past decade. To meet a forecasted 800,000-passenger traffic and insure adequate facilities, it is currently pursuing numerous capital improvement projects, including expansion of the passenger terminal on the east side of the Airport, and construction of a new General Aviation Terminal on the west side of the airport.
