  • Minimum Connection Times

Hi - Im flying from NYC to LAX scheduled to land at 9.50pm. My connecting flight to SYD is scheduled to depart at 10.35pm. I will have 45 mins. Delta tells me this is within their "minimum" connection times which I assume is 30 mins. I'd like others opinions on this before I challenge it. Thanks

It is within their minimum connection time and is certainly doable if your flight from New York is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 5.

Also, why did you ask this in the Atlanta airport forum if you are connecting at LAX?

I'll be flying out of Sioux Falls, SD to Paris France with a connecting flight in Minneapolis. I will be on SKYWEST out of Sioux Falls, then I change to Delta out of Minneapolis. I have 1 hour will that be enough time and do I need to do anything with my check bag?

All you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Nothing with your baggage. You should have plenty of time.

My82 year old mom needs to connect on a united express domestic flight with 55 minute layover. I presume this will be terminal c or d , will she need cart transportation or is the terminal easily walkable?

Some United Express flights use A, while others use C/D. C/D are easily walkable. If she arrives in A, then she will take the Aerotrain or Mobile Lounge to C or D. She should have enough time if her first flight is on-time.

  • arriving in one terminal and leaving another

I will be flying in from Detroit to terminal B and picking up a connecting flight out of terminal C, do I have to get my luggage before going to the other terminal or will it be automatically put on the other plane? and will I have enough time to get from one terminal to the other without going through security or will I have time. Only have 51 min. between flights

If both tickets are purchased together on American/US Airways your bags will be transferred and you can take their airside bus between terminals avoiding security. If you purchased two separate tickets and have checked bags this is an impossible transfer.

first time flying. arriving flight from LAX to DEN is at 9:04am departing flight to Minot,ND is 10:00am do i need to check in my baggage in DEN? where do i go when i arrive to DEN?family of 4 would i have enough time?

If you have checked bags you will not have to claim them in DEN, however, if you have any large carry-ons you will gate check them in Denver because the plane to Minot is small (you just put the green tag they give you on your bag). All you have to do in Denver is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be in the B concourse. You have enough time.

I will be arriving in JFK at 11:05 - What is the estimate time I will need to enter us? Then again I would like to check-in at 15:30 to my 17:00 Flight to Las Vegas. Will I have time to jump out to Manhattan between the two?

You probably be out of customs by about 1200. you don't really have time to go into manhattan. It takes over an hour each way.

If I am out by 12 then 15:30 I have 3 hours 30 minutes. 1:30 will be enough.

Hi, we arrive in toronto from Ireland and are getting a connecting flight with the same ariline to Vancover. the layover time is 1hr 30mins. is this enough time? do we have to claim our bags ? and do we have to go through immigration? thanks in advance

Yes, that should be enough time. Yes, in Toronto you will go through Canadian Immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

  • flight transfer in LAX to Puerto Vallarta with a 48 min layer. time?

Traveling with 2 adults and 3 kids. Traveling from SLC to LAX with a 48 min layover. Will we have enough time to get through customs and to our flight? Flying Delta to LAX and then LAX to Puerto Vallarta on Delta as well.

You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You only have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 5. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

There was an involuntary schedule change and my lay over time is only a bit more than an hour. I arrived at ORD (from MSP) at 10:48am and my next flight is an international one which leaves on 12:35 pm. Is it enough time or do I have to change my flight

THat should be plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hi I TRAVELING AWITH TURKISH AIR LINE ARRIVING TO JFK AT 5PM. I WANT TO BUY ANOTHER TICKET TO CONTINUE MT TRIP TO CHARLOTTE NC. WHICH COMAPNY I SHOULD USE TO BUY MY TICKET AND HOW MUCH TIME I NEED FOR TRANSFER. IS MY DEPARTURE FORM JFK AT 6: 30 PM WILL BE GOOD?

NO, buying separate tickets you need to pick a flight that leaves after 7 PM. Preferably after 7:30. However, it appears that the latest JFK-Charlotte flight is at 6:30. Not enough time. You will either have to spend the night in NY or perhaps take the 7:50 PM US Airways flight from NY Laguardia Airport (LGA).

we're flying from sfo through copenhagen to nice with 45 minute layover. will we need to go through customs or recheck bags? seems tight!

Yes, you will have to go through Schengen passport control. You won't have to do anything with your bags. That will be a difficult connection, but Copenhagen is not a large or complex airport.

  • SFO to LAX to London Heathrow layover
    Mar 14, 2015

Hi, I'm travelling from SFO to LHR on the 17th of March with a layover of 2hrs 48 minutes in LAX. Will this be sufficient time? My connecting flight arrives at terminal 5 and my flight to LHR departs from terminal 5 also. My connecting flight was booked through Delta and my flight to Heathrow is through Virgin but operated by Delta, can I still get my luggage tagged for London and my boarding passes printed off at SFO?

Yes, your baggage will be checked through to London and both boarding passes will be issued in SFO. You will have plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from gate to gate.
