  • Transfers from the UK at Dulles

I am thinking of flying from London to Charlottesville VA vis Dulles - both with UNITED. The transfer time in 1 hour 40. Do I have to go through immigration at Dulles or can I walk from one plane to the next?

In Dulles, you will arrive in the C/D concourse, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and then go to your departure gate on the A concourse via the AeroTrain or Mobile Lounge.

I am flying in from LHR to CLT then off to PHX, my connection time is 1hr24mins is that enough time to make it to my next flight? (I carry a British passport)

That will be close. it's 6 minutes below the minimum connection time. However, CLT is not a crowded airport so I think you have a good chance. Also US Airways has many flights from CLT to PHX in case your miss your connection.

Hi, I am arriving from Morocco 4:45pm at JFK. My flight is 9:50pm at LGA to CHI. Do I have enough time to take a shuttle from JFK to LGA to make the 9:50pm flight? I want to use this shuttle service: http://www.nycairporter.com/ Appreciate your thoughts!

Yes, that should be enough time. You should be on the road by 6 PM, at LGA by 7.

we are looking at a flight that arrives via Iceland Air, the we need to catch a plane on Delta and the coonection time is about 1 hr 45 min. That seems tight to go though customs and all. Is it too tight?

That is not enough time as Delta operates from the Lindbergh terminal (T1) and Icelandair operates from the Humphrey terminal (t2). You will have to take your bags on the train with you from T1 to T2. Depending on where your final destination is, you may save time by booking on an airline that flies from T2 (Sun Country or Southwest).

Hi ! I will fly from DUBAI to ATLANTA (DL7) and then ATLANTA to WASHINGTON from flight DL201 which will arrive at 10:54. My question is: in which Terminal /Gate in Washington I will arrive? Is there any separate Terminals for domestic flights? Thanks

You will arrive in concourse E or F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.

If I'm flying from Regina, SK and stopping in MSP to connect onto my flight to San Jose, CA, would an hour and 10 mins be enough time to go through customs and recheck baggage?

    It should be enough time.

  • 40 min connection

Expedia booked my round trip flights with 40 minute layovers. I didn't realize it was cutting it pretty close. Thankfully, I have the same airline for the connections. Should I be okay with 40 mins? It's definitely added stress. If I had paid attention, I would've opted for a longer layover.

Just for added detail - I am going from ORD to PIT and then back home from PIT to EWR. No int'l flights.

40 minutes should be sufficient if your first flight is on-time for a domestic single airline connection at ORD. But as you can imagine, it doesn't leave much time to spare for a delay.

Do not check a bag when flying Southwest into BWI. The wait is horrible. Service/ staff might as well be a third world country. And no one of them seem to care?????????

All flights with DL, transit/transfer at ATL 2 hrs.Can my baggage be checked through to SXM from YYZ? Do I have go tru Immigration & Customsnat ATL. Is 2 hrs layover enough for the ATL/SKM flight?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. You will not have to do anything with your bags in Atlanta. All you will have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where your flight to SXM will depart.

  • airlines to entebbe

I'm flying to Entebbe, Uganda from San Francesco on the 26th of May. I'm trying desperately to avoid lengthy layovers. Any seasoned flyers to that part of the world with some advice on which airline. Dubai gives me a 13 hour layover. That would be all fine and dandy but the arrival time is 730ishPM and departure at 0430. By the time I get to a hotel, I've got 4 hours. Suggestions, oh weary travelers?

DXB Dubai Int'l AP has 10 'SnoozeCubes in Terminal 1, gate 122 - each with full-sized bed, TV, WiFi- and connection to flight info sytem. It also has the swanky onAirport Dubai Int'l Hotel tel. 04 224 4000. If using Emirates, you would arrive at Terminal 3 (A & B gates) Otherwise you would arrive at T1 with C gates.
