I'm flying from Nashville BNA to SFO. Then SFO to Incheon ICN. There will be just under three hours to transfer. I have two questions! 1. Is that enough time to transfer? 2. Will we need to get our checked baggage and take them with us and check them in again? Thanks!!

Yes, you have plenty of time. If both flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I'll be taking my first international flight on Emirates from Milan, arriving into T4 at 19:00. What is a reasonable timeframe to fetch luggage, clear customs, and catch the AirTrain in order to schedule a meetup at the Jamaica train station?

I imagine that you'd be at the Jamaica station somewhere around 20:15 or 20:30

How long to change from a domestic from Tucson to an international to Amsterdam? I only get 53 min connections, is it possible?

Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from Tucson is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in the Lindbergh Terminal.

I will be arriving at Concourse C from Alaska Airlines and have to reach South Satellite to depart from Emirates. I have a layover of 1hr 45 mins. Is this time enough? Two more questions. Will it be a thru checkin and I will not pick my luggage again. Last..Do I need to go through security as I might not go out of airport. Thanks !!!

If all flights are on the same reservation then you can go directly to your departure gate, no security or anything with your bags.

Hi thanks for your reply. Yes I have all my tickets on the same reservation meaning I booked the tickets together from emirates site.

Then yes, you have enough time.

we are arriving from Calgary at terminal C and departing to Guatemala from terminal C. Would that be right?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. Your flight to Guatemala will depart from Terminal E.

We arrive 2E from EWR (Air France) and have one hour to get to 2F for our flight to LIN (Alitalia). We both have EU passports and can get through shorter line. What are odds both us and our bags make it onto the flight for LIN?

    That should be enough time.

Late Jan - DL flight arrives 6:30 PM and international flight leaves 7:32 - too early to tell which terminals. DL says it's okay.

Yes, if the first flight is domestic or precleared that should be enough time. All International flights leave from Terminal 4. If you arrive in Terminal 2 it is connected to Terminal 4 inside security by a shuttle bus.

I am a first time flyer. I will be flying from CLT to Houston with a connecting flight to Portland Or. Is 42 minutes enough time to make the next flight?

If both flights are on United that is enough time as long as the first flight is on-time. The SkyWay/Terminalink train connects all terminals inside security if you have to change terminals. However, it doesn't leave much time if the first flight is delayed.

  • can i connect from southwest to jet blue

i have a connecting flight on jet blue and my southwest incoming flight arrives 1 our earlier. do i have time to make the connection if my flight comes into terminal 1 and my connection goes out of terminal 3? do i need to go through tsa security again?

This will be very difficult unless your Southwest flight arrives very early and you have no checked baggage. It is possible to take the train from Terminal 1 to the D concourse and then the D concourse to Terminal 3/E concourse. It's very difficult.

Hi, I am arriving from Morocco 4:45pm at JFK. My flight is 9:50pm at LGA to CHI. Do I have enough time to take a shuttle from JFK to LGA to make the 9:50pm flight? I want to use this shuttle service: http://www.nycairporter.com/ Appreciate your thoughts!

Yes, that should be enough time. You should be on the road by 6 PM, at LGA by 7.

  • overnight layover jfk

My flight from the uk lands jfk 23.05 my connecting flight to Honolulu is 08.15 the next morning. Is it worth paying for a hotel for such few hours? Are the facilities at the airport able to accommodate such a layover?

Personally, I would hang out in the terminal as this is quite a short layover. On paper, this looks like a 9 hour layover, but when you factor in time to deplane, transit to hotel and back to airport at least 90 minutes before flight departure, you might be lucky to get 5 hours of sleep. It is up to you to decide if that is sufficient for you to go through hassle to get there and back, and then if it is worth the extra cost. My decision matrix requires at least 12 hours and no lounge access. I need to get at least 7 hours of sleep in a hotel bed for me to consider it worth the expense. I would actually prefer to pay for lounge access if lounge also features showers...the SkyClub in terminal where international flights operate has showers and a restaurant. JFK has terminal seats that can accommodate a person stretching out and early operating hours for food establishments.
