Etihad Airlines Pet Policy

Etihad Airlines welcomes pets on board, allowing small cats and dogs to travel in the cabin with their owners. To ensure a smooth journey for your furry companion, it is important to familiarize yourself with Etihad's pet policy.

If you plan to travel with your pet on Etihad Airlines, it is recommended to submit a booking form at least seven days in advance. Additionally, all required supporting documents must be emailed no later than 72 hours before your flight. This allows the airline to make necessary arrangements and ensures a hassle-free experience for both you and your pet.

Small cats and dogs are permitted in the passenger cabin on Etihad Airlines, as long as the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8kg). Economy travelers have the option to place their pet carriers under the seat or purchase an adjacent seat for their pet to sit on. Business or First Class travelers can also purchase an adjacent seat for their pet carriers.

Guidance, Tips, & info on Airlines and Airports

It is important to note that pets must be at least 16 weeks old to fly on Etihad Airlines. This ensures the safety and well-being of your pet during the journey. Additionally, there is a fee of $200 or 29,000 Etihad Guest Miles each way for this service.

For pets traveling in the cabin, the carriers must not exceed 19" x 17" x 19" (50 cm x 43 cm x 50 cm) in dimensions. It is essential to adhere to these size restrictions to ensure the comfort and safety of your pet during the flight.

Keep in mind that air carriers can change these policies at any time, so you should always check directly with the airline you are traveling on before you book, for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
