Pakistan International Airlines Partnerships & Alliances
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is currently not part of any major airline alliance. However, the airline has codeshare agreements with several other air carriers to expand its network and provide more travel options to its passengers.
PIA has codeshare agreements with Turkish Airlines, Etihad Airways, and China Southern Airlines. These agreements allow PIA to offer its passengers seamless travel to destinations beyond its own network. For example, PIA passengers can book a flight from Lahore to New York with a connection in Istanbul on Turkish Airlines.
In addition to codeshare agreements, PIA has a joint venture with Etihad Airways for cargo operations. The two airlines operate a cargo service between Abu Dhabi and Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
PIA also has a special partnership with the Pakistan Air Force. The airline operates a flight training academy in collaboration with the Air Force to train pilots for both organizations. PIA also provides technical and engineering support to the Air Force for its aircraft maintenance.
While PIA is not part of a major airline alliance, its partnerships and codeshare agreements allow it to provide a wider range of travel options to its passengers and expand its reach beyond its own network.
